After a week of exchanging messages in a support ticket, I was told to report my case as a bug.
I’ll try to summarize my problem as much as possible.
Apparently, the system changed my Diablo Immortal character name due to a supposed penalty. I clarified that this wasn’t possible because I’ve never used the chat and I’d also been inactive for a long time. My name was “Tyrk,” and they changed it to “Tyrk-2.” They also gave me a free name change. I didn’t want to change it, and when I tried to change it back, it told me that name was already taken. They told me that there was no such thing as a name change for inactivity, no matter how long it was. They couldn’t help me; there was no reason for me to receive this automatic name change. I’ve been playing since the game’s early days on PC, so I wanted to keep my name even if I were away for a while and came back.
This sounds like you missed a server merge and someone in the other server took the name priority as you were not playing at the time. It happens as I got the same thing a few months into playing when the first merges happened.

Thanks for responding, i really appreciate it! I needed someone to give me some information.
And, following up on this topic, were you able to recover your character’s name? Or do you know if it can at least be recovered?
not unless the person using it changes theirs, plus being you were -2 means you were 3rd person with that name i think so highly unlikely
Thanks for helping me, I’ll see if i can get a name change and, well, wait until the one a want is no longer taken.
note it will cost $ to change it again
