After visiting the nightmare/ruined areas, when it is to fight diablo for 2nd time, my character free falls and find myself in empty space, I logout, repeat bt the same

me too on my wizard. All the other toons are fine.
When my DH ‘falls’ through the world, I use my Daring Swing (Dash skill) and it jumps me up one level at a time through all the layers the game is built on. When I use it enough, I can re-emerge into the game.
Not sure this can work for you because I know nothing about your character or it’s Dash skills but since you asked for ideas…
My character is a Blood Knight and thats my only one atm.
