"Sharing" Fallen Citadel event lead the deletion of my DI Screenshot folder

I am playing on a PC, and when I shared/saved this event, it downloaded the image to the desktop and completely deleted my DI screenshot folder.

I tried it numerous times and my DI Screenshot completely vanished every time I “shared/saved” this event.

I guess this is the main culprit that my DI screenshot folder always disappeared?

I vaguely remembered that I did something similar too in the past like “saved” legendary gem record, which led to my DI screenshot gone like an ash. :thinking:

No, Diablo Immortal will regularly delete the Screenshots folder (and all of the user’s data it contains, which is a crime in UK law), then re-creates the folder, and re-grants Full Control NTFS permissions to the Users class, thereby enabling all users of the PC to be able to view, edit, and delete each other’s data. Whilst sharing the event thing may happen to cause it, it’s certainly not the only time the application does this. The dozen or so threads we’ve had on this testify to this.

They’ve known how to do this properly for well over a decade at this point, because Diablo III does this just fine, by putting screenshots within the user’s own My Documents folder structure, where they naturally have permissions to them, and other users do not.

I suspect they’re doing something odd in their .MSI packages which is causing the recreation / re-permissioning Regardless, they’re repeatedly deleting the user’s data, and the location / permissions on the folder they’re creating to hold the screenshots is so non-compliant it’s not even funny.

By the way, can you try to “save” the Fallen Citadel and see whether your DI screenshot folder will be auto- deleted?

I tried few times just now and my DI screenshot keep getting deleted when i “saved” the Fallen Citadel event.

Just tried it and the folder was deleted when I clicked Save from the event.
Then I took a screenshot in-game, which re-created the folder.
Did the Save again, and the folder was deleted again.
