Reinstall Game?

I was having trouble with my game so I tried the repair function. Now I have to do endless downloads that on my iPad will take days. If I uninstall and reinstall the game, will it preserve my progress?

All of the data pertaining to your hero / heroes is held server-side, not locally on your device so re-installing the game has zero affect on your progress.

You would still need to download all the Updates when doing a reinstall. And some GB of data extra, because the files of the client would also be downloaded again (though those come from the App Store).

You could look at it like this:

  1. Diablo Immortal Client is sized at around 4GB in the App Store.
  2. All the files needed to play are another 26 GB downloaded by the Client.

Using the repair option will redownload those 26GB of files. Using a reinstall will first download the client of 4GB and after that the 26GB of files.

Did this on my iPhone in the past and try to avoid doing it again, because depending on the time of the day and the NetEase servers in particular, those file downloads can take ages no matter how fast your own connection is.
