No 5-Star Gems Dropping from Legendary Crests After Update

IAfter the recent update, I noticed that Legendary Crests (both standard and Eternal) used in the Elder Rift no longer result in any 5-star Legendary Gems dropping.

Before the update, I would reliably get at least one 5-star gem when using 10 Legendary Crests. However, since the update, this is no longer the case.

I suspect that the “Magic Find” effect from rank 5 Legendary Gems might not be working correctly after the update. There have been reports in the past about certain effects not applying under specific conditions, so I believe this could be a similar issue.

For reference, I uninstalled and reinstalled the game during the update process, and I wonder if this might have caused the issue.

This situation is deeply concerning, as I cannot justify spending more money on the game until this problem is investigated and resolved. Please look into this matter as quickly as possible.

From the in-game information…

So…

  • The chance that a legendary crest will result in a 5-star gem is 4.5%, i.e. 0.045
  • The chance that a legendary crest will not result in a 5-star gem is 95.5%, i.e. 0.955

So…

  • The chance that none of X legendary crests will result in a 5-star gem = (0.955)^X
  • The chance that none of 10 legendary crests will result in a 5-star gem = (0.955)^10 = 0.631

So…

  • 63.1% of players would not get a 5-star gem from using 10 legendary crests.

If you’ve been getting 5-stars reliably by doing this, you’ve been extremely lucky to repeatedly be in the 37% of players. Now that your lucky streak has ended, and you’re in the 63% of players, you think the drop rate has lowered. It hasn’t. You’re now just getting the expected results.

This is NOT a bug.
