Mirrored jewels event duration

Yes, we are going to do so again. Not exactly ‘we’. It’s someone who is unprepared. Or someone who makes a mistake, or someone who forgets.
I know Blizzard’s indifference well, so I am also always preparing for crests. At least the people in this post have prepared well and will prepare well (thanks to this incident and your advice) . But groups that consist of many people always statistically have problematic people. (The expression ‘Problematic’ might be a bit too much) Later some day, You too may be so busy with real-world things that you lose interest in Immortal and forget about the mirror event and do it on the last day. Or the day you return from a trip abroad may be the last day of the mirror event. Just advise to prepare well and don’t tell us that we don’t need to ask about the last day.

From what I remember, at the beginning before, they had given advance notice.
That’s not a business strategy, it’s a petty dirty sales gimmick.
I don’t think they’re trying to make a little more money with that small gimmick.
It’s just their indifference.

It seems… If you go to the materials vendor and exchange the materials, you can upgrade one set item. However, it seems that after the 350 challenge rift opens on the 28th, we will be able to upgrade all the set items to max.

So, rather than expect the company to do better, by providing advance notice of these events, and to accurately portray the duration of these events, it’s up to the players to modify their behaviour to account for the company’s indifference to them?

They’ve previously given notice of these events. They’ve stopped doing so and, in this specific instance, not only did they not give notice, they gave the wrong dates.

Please, stop defending Blizzard’s indifference to providing its customers with timely and accurate advice, and suggesting that somehow it’s the players’ faults for not stockpiling things just in case Blizzard screw them over again.

Again, they’ve previously done this. Remember the double-mirror event, i.e. the event where you could do two mirrored Elder runs? Yeah, they gave over two weeks notice of that one. Players, whether spenders or not, knew they’d need 20 crests to make the most of the event. The F2P players stockpiled the ones they could earn / craft. The spenders bought 20 crests. It makes no difference to Blizzard if the spenders buy the 20 crests in the two weeks after the notice has been given or during the event. The difference is the lack of notice screws over the F2P players.

I said in my previous post, they care less about F2P players and whether F2P players have enough LC or not.

You have played Blizzard games for a decade. You ought to know it was a losing war to expect them to do better. So instead of hoping they can get better, why don’t players himself took initiative to “protect” themselves at meantime?

I mean, they didn’t fix the screenshot folder issue until now. So as a PC player, what can I do? Just manually move those screenshots to an alternative folder instead of waiting for them to fix it and losing my screenshots in the process.

That one time can be considered as “charity”. But the rests of “surprise” Mirrored Jewel event? It is a calculated move to get spenders to buy LC with real money.

Considering that they keep doing that, I am sure their data indicated otherwise or else they have no reasons to keep doing that.

So we should just resign ourselves to them being bad at stuff and not ask them to be better? Especially when they have previously been better, i.e. they have given notice of these events in the past.

If they don’t want to have threads complaining about them being bad at communications, perhaps they could, you know, stop saying they’ll be better at it and actually be better at it.

kilometer, meteorblade You both behave similarly on this forum and in this game. me, too.
We demand them to improve, and we know their indifference well, so we play the game while preparing for it.
All three of us are similar users.
However, both of you keep coming up with additional other stories to maintain your respective position.
From what I see on this forum, the two of you don’t think much differently. Especially on this issue. ‘demand and prepare’

We’re coming at the same problem from slightly different angles.

  • I want Blizzard to communicate better and accurately.
  • Kilometer is advising how to cope with them not doing so.

Myself and Kilometer have interacted on Blizzard forums for well over a decade at this point. Previously on the US Diablo III forums, and now here. We don’t always agree (who would?) but the difference is that I’m not going to insult people for holding views different to mine, unlike some others in this thread have.

Could you please loan me some dusts and scraps? :joy: I’m only at avarage 28.5 level.

To be fair, that was just the typical PR talk. They said the same thing in the D3 forum last time and then went radio silent after a week or a month.

I just feel that it is better for the players to prepare for anything than hoping the authority will do something for them especially if the things that can be easily doable or avoidable.

mr 5yo stop posting and touch grass

i wish we could do that

how about you both go touch grass and let this thread die out

You do realize the entire purpose for this or any orher game out there is to make money correct? The only reason you have a f2p account at all is so they can entice you to spend money. Of course they dont want you to have 10 crests, or time enough to save up,… guess what they sell in various amounts in the shop for instant use?

Guess what? They used to give advance notice of the Mirrored Jewel events then they stopped doing so. The lack of notice does not affect spending players, as they’ll just buy some crests for the event when it happens. However, it does negatively affect F2P players. F2P players just adjusted, and they keep at least 10 eternal / legendary crests in stock, ready for these events. So, as a lack of notice no longer affects spenders or F2P players, what does it accomplish to not give advance notice?

F2P players are in the game so that spending players have other heroes to feel superior to. Do you really think the whales would play BGs if it was only against other whales? What would be the point of being a whale if there weren’t minnows to lord it over?

That alone wouldn’t be enough to justify allowing f2p to exist. The more likely reason is that f2p players will sell their unbound stuff on the market which the whales can buy.
