Feedback on Difficulty Catching Up in Diablo Immortal

Dear Diablo Immortal Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am a returning player who has not played Diablo Immortal for the past two years. Recently, I decided to come back and immerse myself in the game again. However, after playing for a month, I’ve encountered a significant challenge, which I’d like to share with you.

While it’s clear that leveling up and collecting essences can help me catch up in some aspects, it feels almost impossible to catch up to the current player base in terms of combat power. Two years ago, I invested approximately US$5,000 into the game, but now, even after dedicating 5-6 hours daily (including 2 hours of farming monsters and completing all available quests), I still find myself far behind in combat power.

I estimate that if I increase my wings’ resonance from 4300 to 5000, I might be able to reach around 40,000 combat rating. However, I’ve noticed that there are many players who have already achieved 39,000 to 40,000 combat rating without wings at all. Despite my effort, it seems that even with more farming and weekly raid participation, I will still lag behind by at least 1,000 combat rating compared to those players.

I would sincerely suggest that the team considers providing some form of visible pathway or incentive for returning players like myself to catch up with the core player base. Seeing a tangible path forward would give me the motivation to continue playing. Without this, it feels difficult to justify continuing, as the grind seems endless and without hope of reaching the same power level as other players.

Thank you for your time and for considering my feedback. I hope to see improvements that would allow returning players like myself to enjoy the game on a more level playing field.

Yep…

The usual reason for the issue you’re reporting is not your legendary gems or the base CR of your items. Instead it’s…

  • Rank of Set Items
  • Rank of Legendary Items
  • Warband Tableau level
  • Helliquary level

As you’re finding out, catching up on these is hard time-gated and there are no catch-up mechanics for some of these, meaning you’re essentially many months behind no matter how much time / effort you put in.
