Essences not on list in Essence Transfer Vendor

I have noticed that there are essences not appearing on the essence transfer list. Specifically on my wizard Hordesplitter and War Mage Mantle don’t show up on the list at all.

Hordesplitter’s Spirit is a crafted Ancient Legendary helm type. You have to apply an essence to it, it doesn’t have one to start out with, so there’s nothing that can be extracted from it.
