ESC key does not close certain in-game windows

On PC, certain in-game windows do not close when pressing the ESC key. Instead of closing the active window, the main menu opens and takes priority, resulting in both the menu and the original window being open simultaneously.

Affected Windows (Confirmed):

  • Message of the Day (MOTD)
  • Event windows such as The First and Last King
  • Potentially other specific event or modal windows

Expected Behavior:
Pressing the ESC key should close the currently active in-game window before opening the main menu. If a modal window is open, ESC should dismiss it.

Actual Behavior:
When pressing ESC while these windows are open:

  • The window remains open
  • The main menu opens on top of it
  • Both UI elements are active at the same time

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch Diablo Immortal on PC
  2. Open the Message of the Day or an event window (e.g., The First and Last King)
  3. Press the ESC key
  4. Observe that the window does not close and the main menu opens instead

Frequency:
100% reproducible (for the listed windows)

Notes:
Other in-game windows correctly close when pressing ESC, suggesting this is an issue specific to certain modal or event UI implementations.
