This morning (Thursday, 22nd May 2025) the weekly reset of the Matriarch’s Retribution event took place.
We got new tasks for Terror Rifts (5/5)…
We got new tasks for Wild Brawl (8/8)…
However, we did not get new tasks for Weekly Tasks (9/9)…

Confirmed although for me it also showed the weekly tasks would reset tomorrow. We’ll see what happens.
Well, remember that a couple of weeks ago there was discussion over them changing the Weekly Tasks reset day from a Wednesday morning to a Thursday morning…
They refreshed on the 8th of May.
They refreshed on the 15th of May.
That means they should have refreshed today, the 22nd of May. They haven’t. It’s bugged.
Definitely bugged, I agree.
I’m just saying that it might reset tomorrow without changing anything. Which just means someone programmed the tasks this week to have the wrong reset date. And that is a bug.
If they reset tomorrow, would it be worth it to fix them to reset today? In my opinion no but it is an important reminder to check that things work properly before rolling out any patch.
So, the weekly tasks should have reset at 03:00 Thursday 22nd May.
Instead, they reset at 03:00 Friday 23rd May…
…and they show as having 7 days 22 hours remaining.
Since when does a weekly reset take eight days?
The event ends on 31st 2:59am from its description. So I guess that’s the reason they stretched the last and this period a bit. No point of having new tasks for 2 days in the end.
That makes a little more sense but it also means that there’ll be a few day gap before the next event starts. So basically they’re wasting an entire week.
Weekly tasks having an eight day reset period makes zero sense.
If they reset every 8 days, they’re not weekly.
If they’re weekly, they reset every 7 days.
The event lasts 30 days. You can’t divide that evenly to 4 weeks. That’s why the last 2 weeks are 8 days. Definitely weird but there still is a little bit of logic behind it.
There wouldn’t be any confusion if the end date for the event had been set to 29th. Then all weeks could’ve been 7 days exact. No misaligned reset dates or anything.
So, have five sets of weekly tasks, and the 5th set you only have a couple of days to complete. Having that 5th set would also mean that it would be even easier for people to reach the end goal of 1120 points to obtain all the rewards.
Well, for these tasks…
- The 1st reset happened after 7 days (reset was on a Wednesday).
- The 2nd reset happened after 8 days (reset was on a Thursday).
- The 3rd reset happened after 7 days (reset was on a Thursday).
- The 4th reset happened after 8 days (reset was on a Friday).
If the period between the resets isn’t going to be 7 days, and the days on which the reset changes over the duration of the event then, quite simply, that tab of the event should not be labelled Weekly Tasks because they are not weekly if they’re not refreshed every 7 days.
Well at least we have 7 days and they don’t make it less. It definitely is an odd way to go about it for sure and as normal there is little communication. Weekly can make odd sense as they are updated each week just not on the same day. Most times their decisions make little sense and cause confusion which I feel most times is their goal.
