Bumping this thread
I’m officer in clan where this player is atm.
We are monitoring this issue from the moment player shared with us the info about the ban.
Our whole clan didn’t notice any activity that could lead to ban, player was just trying to log in for raids.
Please do look into this ASAP and inform the player on the contact e-mail about details of the ban and the ways to appeal, as we are all 100% sure there were no violations of ToS.
The response would be a good start.
BTW, banning people, without giving them a reason why they were banned, is one of the worst business practices I have ever seen in my life. Maybe it is legit thing to do, but I know this will come back to you like a boomerang.
Plus, you are obliged one way or another to return the invested money, so really don’t see a reason why a player shouldn’t be able to appeal the ban decision, especially if he is ready to spend more in this game.
Banning non-cheating players who are paying in game and earning you all your paychecks is just mental.
I commented on a similar issue for another player back in June…
Blizzard’s official response regarding bans is shown here, from GhostSignals, in another thread on the same sort of issue, i.e. he claims that Blizzard don’t give out reasons for bans, and that it’s common practice…
Of course, contrast that with Blizzard China’s official website, which had an article published about this subject…
It stated…
The following is a public list of players who were severely punished for violations from July 25th to August 12th. The relevant characters have been reviewed and the violations are true.
That official Blizzard article named and shamed, with server / hero names, over 100 accounts that had been banned / suspended, with the exact reason they had been banned.
This is why players get upset. All they’re asking for is a reason for why their account is being suspended / banned, so that they have any hope what-so-ever of being able to contest it. Blizzard US / EU / Asia tell us that they don’t give out this info, and it’s industry standard, but Blizzard China publicly publish the info.
Hello! Discussion about violation penalty in DI has been ongoing here and in reddit.
Did the notification window you see when trying to log-in in the game show you were permanently banned or given temporary suspension?
Also, what did the email reply said to you after filing your ticket? As frustrating as it is, there should have been an automated reply to you. Though don’t expect much.
As I have commented on another post:
