Because no matter how I think, it is impossible or realistic to get 70 essences every week to trigger this condition. You will be hard-pressed to find people selling it in the market now. Even if you did, you would be extremely minority to pull that off.
Iām hoping itās a typo and it should read 10 rather than 70 because itās definitely possible to earn more than 10 terror essences in a week. The changes that ensure the 4th spire guarantees youāll get one if the first three spires havenāt given you one means youāre guaranteed at least 10 essences.
Having said that, I earned 12 Terror Essences this week and Iām holding the two extra towards next weekās Codex task that guarantees a triple/triple or triple/quadruple for consuming 10 of them in a week.
Heck, even if you had insane luck, and you got a Terror Essence from every single spire you did in your 10 Terror Rifts, thatād still only be 40 Terror Essences. Thereās simply no way to even earn 70 in a week unless you somehow find lots on the Marketplace.
You donāt need to obtain 70 Terror essence in a week in order to start 70 Oblivion pillars. While I do agree that this condition is insane, at this time I have 97 Terror essence, so technically I can benefit 27 times from this mechanic.
Itās all about being patient and stacking your TE over a longer period of time, like you would with leg crests as a f2p player.
Yes, yes, except that thereās a weekly Codex task for consuming 10 Terror Essences that, upon completion, gives you a triple/triple or triple/quadruple stat item. Thus, if you ran 70 Oblivion Pillars in a week, consuming 70 Terror Essences in the process, youād essentially be writing off a guaranteed six eternal items for the possibility that you might get an eternal from the 71st (and subsequent) Oblivion Pillars.
That means if you consumed 10 of them each week to complete the Codex task you would be 100% guaranteed to obtain nine triple/triple or triple/quadruple stat legendaries. If you consumed them all in one week, youād get one guaranteed from the codex task, chances from the next 60, and improved chances from the next 27.
I canāt see many people, given the choice between nine guaranteed eternals and one guaranteed eternal with small chances of more, choosing the gambling version because how likely is it that the 87 chances would result in at least, or more, eternals than the eight youād otherwise be guaranteed?
For reference, I had a thread where I detailed having opened 500+ chests, from Terror Rifts, Oblivions and Hellslayers, and received just a single eternal. So, why would I take 87 goes at a 1 in 500 chance versus 8 goes at a 100% chance?
Please share where you see the āguaranteedā part. I know of this task and actually this week I have it at 10/10, no 3/4 affix lego dropped for me tho.
Every single week Iāve done this task Iāve had a 3 attribute / 3 magic or 3 attribute / 4 magic item as the reward. In the thread I linked, there are screenshots of the first couple of items I got.
