TLDW: Consume 10 Terror Essences every week, Go to Codex, click Activities, find “Terror Essence” page and claim the “Eternal Gear”.

So to sum it up other way .either consume 10 t essence or dont use any for the week given how low the normal drop rate is.
The latest patch changed the behaviour of Terror Rifts, i.e. if you don’t get a Terror Essence from one of the first three spires, you are 100% guaranteed to get one from the fourth spire. As you can get rewards from the first 10 Terror Rifts you run each week, as long as you get to the fourth spire in each of them, you’re guaranteed to get at least 10 Terror Essences a week. This means you can absolutely get this Codex task done every week.

Activated pillar by mistake outside a safe zone now i get notification that pillar is active when i click on it .it leads me to the pillar location but it’s invisible & can’t be selected .no t essence consumed . Wont let me abandon pillar quest also .tried to fix it by doing hellslayer bounty but it says"u have pillar active’ . Tried relogging .heck even re-installed the whole game but that cursed cursed pillar active notification presists .
Never seen somone have this probleme before. so guess im stuck selling t essence for a measly 400 for a while

So eternal gear has a 1 in 40 chance of dropping.
Assuming it takes 4 rifts to get 1 essence x 10 rifts, the drop rate of eternal gear is 2.5% out of 100 rifts.
And, because rifts are capped at 10 per week, you would need 2 and a half months to get 1 guaranteed etenal gear drop.

Wrong. You will get 1 guaranteed eternal drop every week with 3 stats + 3/4 affixes.
Complete 10 terror rifts every week will give you 10 essences at minimum due to pity, and then you spend 10 essences through Hellslayer bounties or Pillars to get the guaranteed eternal gear at the codex section before the week reset.
