5-star gems purchased in market LOCKED

////// UPDATED 1/19/24: This is not a bug but a feature apparently. You just have to click on the tiny little lock icon to “unlock/lock” toggle. I went in and unlocked the gem. //////.

In the past week I purchased 2 different Blessing of the Worthy 2/5 gems from market. I already have a rank 4 3/5 BoW and have two rank 3 copies, I just needed 1 rank 1 to upgrade. In both cases the gem I purchased was LOCKED. Even after the “trade freeze” wore off, I could not use the gem to upgrade my BoW and couldn’t even use it for 32 gem power… completely worthless. I sold the first one back on the market (but now someone else is dealing with the worthless thing) but now that I have a second one, I feel like there must be many out there and I no longer feel confident making any significant purchase on the market.

Whilst not in the jeweller’s interface, i.e. just stood around in town, open your Inventory, go to the Gems tab, click on the BOW gem in question. At the top-right you will see a padlock symbol. If the padlock is open the gem will be available to be used during upgrades at the jeweller. If the padlock is closed the gem will be unavailable to used during upgrades at the jeweller. Click the padlock to toggle it between open / closed.

This is intended functionality, not a bug. It’s designed so that the player can protect gems that they may want to not be used when upgrading other gems, e.g. so that you can retain copies of gems you need to do an upgrade.

Thank you - I had no idea that toggle existed… strange that locked gems are able to be sold and bought, but I understand now.
