100 Crest Run Not Providing Any Legendary Gems

Just ran the new 100 rare crest option. I received the telluric fragments, but not a single legendary gem dropped. One other player ran the same 100 rare crest option and I could see they received 5 legendary gems. That seems highly unlikely I wouldn’t receive at least one legendary gem.

Each crest is 5% drop for a 1⭐.
By comparison odds of 100 not-1⭐ is (95%)^100 or .59%. Yes low, but very possible.
Exactly 1 gem is 3.1%. Exactly 2 is 8.1%, 3-14%; 4-17.8%, and exactly 5-18.% .

For each 100 rare crest run, odds of getting less than 5 crests is 43.6%, 5 crests is 18%, more than 5 is 38.4%.

Formula: 100Cn × .95^(100-n) × .05^n ; n - # of leg gem

The chance that you get a 1-star gem when using a Rare Crest is 5% so…

  • Chance that a Rare Crest gives a 1-star gem = 0.05
  • Chance that a Rare Crest does not give a 1-star gem = 0.95
  • Chance that none of X Rare Crests give a 1-star gem = (0.95)^X
  • Chance that none of 100 Rare Crests give a 1-star gem = (0.95)^100 = 0.0059205292

That means roughly 1 in 169 players would get your result.
Unlucky? Sure.
Bugged? No.
