It won’t get more complex dude. Your tool kit and key presses are the same. Maybe the skill effectiveness increases, it has additional abilities tied to it, how it functions changes or the damage type gets converted, but you are still spamming Left and Right click and occasionally playing the Piano on pulls with Elites or a Boss.

Here is what that looks like in reality:
Hit 1, 2, 3, 4.
Left Click until mobs are dead. If boss, repeat. Some encounters, you might just hit Left and Right click because 1, 2, 3, and 4 are on cooldown.
Rinse, Repeat. Does not matter the encounter. You will do this from Act 1 until end game…but have tornados or something shooting off your skills and able to piano key more often.
And it’s not a bad thing. Dota 2 chooses to do things oppositely, barring casual from joining in, and what happens? Player base dwindling over the years
Casual friendly is OK, as long as the ceiling is high. If you force the floor to be high as well, that’s elitist
console can support 12 casts easy before even playing radial dial games. lets not blame them lol. even mmo’s get really creative on thier console releases. and unless a mythic level raid or death type

no you will not be the greatest raider in all of FF14 on playstation. but you can work the more common stuff decent.

D4 didn’t break many molds here. being honest…if they went off the ARPG cookbook, screen flipping is common now. kind of let down it didn’t get put in.
even neocore made arpg does it. its real nice to rotate that view.
also not a console limitation. WH40k for xbox has this. that is right thumbstick controlled. its…actually easier (imo) on the console (or controller to pc).
What moveskill? There’s no space for mobility skills (the fun skills) since barbs are taking 3-4 shouts (berserker ult being essentially a 4th shout, and the other 3 being Rally, War, and Challenging).
See this is the problem, if you had 7 slots the build can be expressed for more dynamism.
Currently, with 6 slots; if you give up challenging shout, you have some synergy issues but then you can fit in mobility.
If you give up ult (as many are now doing) you suffer a big DPS loss.
The game will get boring just a bit faster if the #1 thing that affects our common game experience is too limited -
ie. Action input
7 slots goes a long way to alleviate this.

Lmao. You’re right, they’re just continually dumbing down Diablo because the majority of players (or maybe the devs) are lazy and get overwhelmed thinking above the number 4.

If you’re using more than 2 for damaging things you’re doing it wrong. The others are just for casting buffs or traveling, they may as well not even be there.
Doesn’t have to stay that way, and if you distinguish between overworld PvP and arena, normalized PvP (a separate mode and server lobby) then you can have the best of both worlds. Let’s try to not limit ourselves too much, hey? Like say, 6 instead of 7 slots
