This is how power creep gets out of hand. Embracing buffs over nerfs is how you get diablo 3
would dont need a repeat of wow culture where everyone wants everything nerfed until it takes a raid to kill a boss on normal
I mostly agree. I think Druid and barb are closer to well tuned than the others. The best spot is probably in the middle. Druid needs a bit of love and necro needs a nerf.
The others need to be toned down a bit imo, though this is taken with a grain of salt as we only got II difficulty, legendary drops were increased, old build, ect.
Along these lines I want to be able to play at a some difficulty even fully geared where I have to dodge and manage potions. I don’t want to insta-die, but I want to need to conserve and work on dpsing the boss to get more potions to drop.
My only issue with D3 is you can’t find that “hard” difficulty for bosses at some point with gear it just gets easy.
Honestly, at this point i’m just curious about the final release version.
I wanted to refund cause of my many gripes with the game like bad ui decisions, loot stats being so minimal, and the skill trees being so empty.
But thinking about the difficulty stages and them unlocking more content the higher you go on them, i just suppressed my urge to refund and i’m going to wait patiently and see the changes.
No I 100% Agree with you, EVERYTHING needs nerfed down to where druid is IMHO.
But we won’t get that, Best we hope for a middle ground , buff druid, nerf the others, fall in line type.
Like “World Tier 2” Was a freaking joke, I honestly forget there was an “easier” version.
Im not asking for Dark Souls but like… give me more Butcher-esq moments, when you see him at level 12 and he just eats you like the fresh meat you are.
Barb and Druid are very D2-like. Painfully slow in the beginning, but get really good later.
The other classes start as D3 characters. They practically playing a different game.
I love that you put it like this, Yes. Yes and Yes.
They did melee classes raw, but its good.
Now do it to the range/casters.
Sounds like how it should be for everyone. D3 fans can’t understand that and they show clear lack of basic knowledge about previous titles saying Diablo is about fast killing but there were crowd control skills and tactics required to progress 20 years ago.
If D4 takes D3 route again game is ruined with endless power creep, 16 torments, mindless button spam.
I second your claim we do need nerfs on Sorc and Necro definitely and rogue can just bring down a bit.
Where’s the <3 for this thread guys? This is the best feedback I’ve seen so far!
We want this game to take a long time to finish and not finish in a month when you have all that power!
According to the devs that was the intention. A mix of D2 and D3. Progression and power growth spread out over a few weeks.
Seems a lot of people in this thread have never played any Diablo game before. You’re supposed to clear fast. Mobs are supposed to be relatively easy. I can clear an entire greater rift in 2-3 minutes in D3, including bosses and numerous elite packs. Farming in D2 is just as easy.
Barbarian and Druid are clearly underperforming in the beta, but Necro and Sorc seem pretty spot on.
But you don’t farm fast at very first level. You have to reach that point first. We are playing through game first time and there was no challenge compared to previous titles. Vanilla D3 wasn’t easy and fast too. I don’t want them to add tons of difficulties again and divide players more. Highest greater rifts definitely doesn’t take 2-3 minutes too.
You forget or ignore first experience of previous titles and have only endgame speed farming in mind.
Are we sure that this is how it works throughout the game? I’m pretty sure if a class could somehow have perma invulnerability it would have been found in the NDA beta test and corrected. That sounds more like a bug to me.
I am playing D2 right now. My Sorceress is level 27 and just blazing through the game. Probably even faster than I did in D4, really.
At level 1 it was slow. Just like D4. At level 25 you wreck stuff.
Well Sorceress and Paladin in D2 are known for long time to be too op compared to other classes. Game still can be challenging for them. Sorc goes fast yes but she gets wrecked by Duriel and wrong teleport in middle of monsters is insta death too.
How RoS changed difficulty system in D3 was controversial. I remember complains that game became too easy as well.
There are 5 other classes in D2 and that balance dispute still goes on on D2R forums as well. Are those 5 at wrong place or just 2 builds too op? Opinions are divided.
Well, it’s only going to get more so worse come the retail release. The beta legendary drops were dropping three times the amount than we will see on live.
Yes right now is not release, you have guides/years of experience ect! D2 was not as easy as it is today on release. Same with ppl citing D3 it was much harder on release then today. You got wrong elite combos you just restart. That is the point ppl don’t want that kind of power creep.
I’m down for this long as if the other classes become OP in the later levels they are also nerfed in the very same way. Word is that classes like Barb/Druid are pretty OP in the later game which means that if this comes to light both those classes will need to be nerfed as well.
