TRUTH - D4 Kinda Sucks

Might be true. It’s a solid theory. Looking at that picture Rod posted on twitter, it looks like a bunch of kids fresh out of college (no disrespect, you gotta start somewhere). But the point still stands, there isn’t a lot of veterans on their dev team.

Which previous systems?

D4 is a new game.
Its not PoE, its not WoW and no addition or extension to D2/D3.

That’s… The opposite problem of what I’m having? It’s too easy everywhere I go. This game’s scaling didn’t keep up. I wasn’t limited to just dungeons until it did that, Helltides, tree stuff, side quests and things were really fun in WT4 but only for like 4 levels lol. I want the level scaling to be more aggressive I guess. The game can’t do that though, and it also isn’t making “power fantasy” players happy either lol

Lol it’s a collage of all other arpg games, what do you se new in this game??

Can’t fix bad systems. If game was made in a traditional way you could just push content faster than intended and that would bring the difficulty up to where you needed it to be dynamically.

And their fireside chat was lacking in confidence, a detailed timeframe, and anything really concrete. It was mainly superficial and lacked anything definitive. You’d think they’d have dates, deadlines, clear reasons why stats and such aren’t working right, and how they plan to adjust them.

They’re not really difficulty settings, there’s a literal expected progression turn up to the next tier once you reach the breakpoint and unlock new features. I mean, I know that… Theoretically they’re supposed to be, but it’s a tier progression, not something intended to create a level of challenge or experience that you dial into based on preference.

Good distinction. I don’t disagree. It’s just the system they decided on I guess.

That’s a good point too. They seemed really disorganized and unprepared. some questions they completely dodged or answered in a nonsensical way (like when asked about scaling). The campfire chat didn’t instill any confidence in me that this game’s issues are going to be handled appropriately or in a timely fashion.

Didn’t they throw out a bunch of iterations of skill trees? Set items got cut too because they weren’t happy with them, and runes aren’t in the game yet. That seems like a lot of mismanagement and no cohesive vision. Bad director maybe?

And by “Truth” OP means their crappy, subjective opinion.

I mean there has to be an end somewhere. Or do you want infinite scaling for personal challenge? I personally don’t like that, I like some kind of end point so I get a sense of progression once I get to THE END game and have all the best items and what not.

Some arpgs like Grim Dawn have an arena style side game you can play, where you can put down traps and buffs and stuff with 3 other players and see how far you can go while getting scaling loot and enemies. I could get behind something like that to push content but that’s not what you want, I get that. You want scaling everywhere.

Don’t make a comment like this on the Discord or you will get banned for trolling.

I’d like the scaling to have a plus option, and also to not literally become irrelevant like 5 levels into the supposed hardest tier, lol.

The Grim Dawn idea sounds neat. I love Tower of Sisyphus in Returnal which is exactly that, endless, unwinnable scaling, but like…

No, that’s not what I’m looking for in Diablo. I’d like to be able to do more Helltides, fight more world bosses and do stuff outside of dungeons without being bored to death. It literally just became trivially dull once I started getting past level 70…

Tier 5 is coming season 1. I think that’s basically what you want.
Returnal was great btw. If you haven’t played Hades you might enjoy that as well.

I’ve played it, it’s also really great. The Hades but it’s only Metal soundtrack mix is the perfect Helltides music

Well, it’s a widely shared opinion. How’s that? Shared opinions are generally regarded as a truth or axiom to some degree when widely held enough. The points brought up are valid and if those that enjoy the game fully agree that none of the points from OP are an issue, perhaps counter why - rather than one-note replies that denote you’re just here to troll and/or cater to a corporation that doesn’t know you exist except “on paper”. Please enlighten us why all of the points in the post are wrong.

Agree with pretty much every single point.

Would also add they dropped the ball with social aspects like group finder, lobbies, chats, etc

My conclusion, you no longer enjoy games.
Or this game is not for you.
It has issues, but your list is ridiculous.
If you didn’t like it in beta at all, why buy it.
They literally said before server slam game has gone gold and represents very close to launch build, and as a service game will receive regular updates.fixes etc seasons etc.
Accept d4 or move on
Feedback about D4 and bugs in D4 is useful.
The rest is opinions and complaints that serve no purpose to make the game better.
Feel free to vent, i have too, better out then in.
But calling it truth, and saying it sucks like it is truth is toxic.
Your truth maybe.

It’s quite the deviation from D2. It’s so different that I don’t care for it as well. I don’t know about these design decisions. I see some pros with it but a lot of cons for me personally. It ruins the meaning of items and places, which I don’t like.
