What puzzles me is… aren’t Warlocks often associated with minions?
except we never played “named character” or a character with specific tie to anyone (it would change every dialogue and so on…way more than the one line per town that changed on D2 depending on your class)…i mean… Why would one class be important in the lore while all the rest are unknown individual ? (except during D5 where they might get a name but it will be after D4)
That’s untrue the warrior in d1 is one of king Leorics sons
That was a retcon… so technically when D1 was ‘current’, the Warrior was nameless/unidentified.
Discussed in this thread.
Doesn’t make me wrong tho
I’m pretty sure if I install D1 & log in, my Warrior will be called Warrior, no trace of Aidan.
So in fact, I’d be playing an unnamed Warrior, just as Gamma indicated. ![]()
“Never played [named character]” being true… “That’s untrue” then becomes false. QED.
Well Ogden does call you lord if I remember right
Can’t rule it out, idr every line - but he does call you “master”, which I think is just good business practice as an innkeeper.
Ogden begins the “Skeleton King” quest with the words:
The village needs your help, good master! Some months ago, King Leoric’s son, Prince Albrecht, was kidnapped.
It’s clear from just this, that Ogden doesn’t recognize Prince Albrecht’s elder brother standing in front of him. ![]()
But like I said in the other thread, it could be the Warrior is Aidan in disguise (but only bc of the retcon… there’s nary a hint that he was ever meant to be Aidan):
Based on the culture of modern Blizzard, I think the next class will be focused on inclusivity. It will be fat, POC, and very ![]()
Something like a Reaver or Heretic from DAoC would be pretty cool. Both variants of Mele/Caster hybrids. Reaver is mostly Mele with some mage tools, Heretic is mostly mage but can also use a whip or dagger and buckler (small shield)
What about the existing customization options & its many hues did you fail to notice? Why would there be a new “POC” class? This in psychology is a “tell”: you’re advertising your deepest (funniest) anxiety. Didn’t even take 3 seconds to consider how stupid it makes you seem.
Psychology is unchristian. What I mean by POC class is something like the D3 witch doctor.
Even dumber than I would’ve guessed. I thought I’d identified the intellectual floor, but I was way off.
except once again, like i said we never had a named character during the game itself
like i said : our characters might get named in D5 but definitely not in D4.
much like D1 characters get named after D1
D2 characters after D2 etc…
and even then it’s only a handful on them.
so i stand my point : we never play named character during the game itself
like a client but :
-
he does so for every class (so…no)
-
when he talks about king leoric or your brother (if you play the knight) he won’t link them to you in any shape or form : he talks as if you don’t even know about them
once again, here too the character was named after the events of the game the character was in.
Do you know/remember how he addresses a Rogue player? (And I assume he uses “master” for both the Warrior and the Sorcerer.)
Pirat class.
It has rats as pets.

A proper plate class. Doesn’t have to be Paladin or Zader.
No such thing since D3. Won’t be a thing in D4 unless they fundamentally overhaul loot in a way more radical than S4 overhaul.
Can only have immitation. For example, make the new class melee-focused. I’d be worried about how Spiritborn partly sits in that niche
, except they can’t possibly have introduced Block Chance (on Spiritborn weapons) if they weren’t planning to give the next class Block Chance on shields. Could they?
No, no, not possible.
Also, Barb’s best ability is tornadoes… Kek.
the point stand, we never play an important (as in known) or named character at the time of the game it was in
I’m specifically wondering because Rogue is female, that’s all. I suppose he’d say “mistress”, but it could be a number of other things.
