Thoughts for the next class

Seems like a bad fit as every hero seems to have magic and it seems to share some of the same type of feel as paladin.

OR with the new requirement for group play in certain content… a utility/support/healer class? that would sure be a surprise lol

When you said this, I thought you meant like tiefling as the next class

That would be awesome, but the only good thing, that I remember, to come from lut gholein was the merc haha.

Race isn’t really a thing in D4. What you described is something akin to D&D. There’s nothing wrong with that for other games, but that’s not what D4 is going for. And I highly doubt that the devs are going to rework the game that much to become BG4 instead.

Race could be a thing. Doesnt have to be not part of game. How many ppl would complain about having more choices? But yah they will never add this to the game just like 99.9% of what is suggested here on forums.

Aasimar

Aasimar are a race created by Angels, often thought of as a Human-Angel hybrid.

In their endless war with the Demons, the Angels knew they would need a bigger army, to reinforce the armies of Heaven, and so they commissioned a new race, with the bodies of humans, but with radiant souls, and the Asimar were born. While most Aasimar are bred for combat against demons, some end up in the mortal realms, either by their own accord or hunting Demons who trespass.

Class mechanic: Passives.

  1. Divine Resistant’s: You are resistant to all forms of fire damage (start at 50% max 90%).
  2. Divine Shield: When hit by any mele weapon your shield absorbs incoming damage (starts at 20% max at 30%). The shield also hits the enemy with electrical damage and stuns them for 3 seconds.
  3. Divine Aura: A light blue glow surrounds you any enemy withing 10 feet of you is blinded (duration for 1 second max at 3 seconds). Each enemy can only be blinded once. When blinded the enemy takes an additional 20% damage.

Probably a healer or something with auras, that will boost companions and teammates I guess, a sort of holy knight, that will balance current characters.

I’m hoping for Warlock.

1.) It’s a class I love to play
2.) It would make the swords and board crowd go bonkers.

But obviously no weapon slots, right? Because… well, you know.

Ctrl-F tells me “Paladin” is mentioned 12 times (13 now)… by the old Merovingian laws, I declare this the winner.

Paladin it is. (Oh look, 14 now.) You can disband this moot, thank you for participating.

That’s basically a paladin with shiny wings

You’ll be able to upgrade those wings to even shinier ones for plat, ofc

Burnt knight from the new branch of the church. Some sort of Dark/Corrupted/MF Paladin, I guess.

Mr. T-Rex says “I pity the Merovingians”.

Play necro without minions and a shield.

That is an amazing name. Thank you for finding this!

So captain America at the end of infinity war style? Or like dual towers?

No, but good try

The fallen angel would lose their wings in order to become mortal.

It is from D&D I just added the passives.

Races are not heroes. You have sorcerers, druids, barbarians, ect. Aasimar, fallen angel, are not heroes. Imagine doing this with races today. It would be blasphemy! Stop suggesting an entire race as a hero. Not good.

need pointy ears cat lady ninja and female elf fighter with skimpiest outfits possible.

reason:

Blizzard senior product manager Harrison Froeschke posted on LinkedIn that Diablo 4 has brought in over $1 billion since it launched in June 2023, and $150 million of that came from Diablo 4’s in-game item shop. Froeschke listed the figures in his job description.

Is there someone playing necro with minions and shield in S5? Is that a thing?

Have I alluded to that?
