=buffs all over the place. If you are squishy and you don’t want to use the two extra +20% DR sources they gave, then you are just choosing to be squishy.

Well we are squishy and do less DPS than the tank classes. So yes, we can be less squishy at the cost of being even lower DPS.

85 percent is the hardcap for dr. You also have a soft cap. Each seperate type of DR has its own cap. And they stack multiplicative not additive so you never hit 100 percent. Say you have 80 percent flat dr and 80 dr from armor your actual dr would be 95 percent. So since our flat dr already capped getting more flat dr is no help. And 1 percent in something like dr to burning is NOTHING. say we have that say 80 percent flat dr that 1 percent is just 1 percent of that remaining 20 percent not 1 percent total dr.

But in the end what does any of it matter? When there is no game to play anyway. The game is horrible the only reason we still sticking around is in hopes it gets better. Buff sorc nerf it give everyone infinite damage who cares still a mediocre game with 0 reward for an abysmal boring endgame.

This explanation makes no sense. If DR is capped at 85 per type, then getting more DR of a non-capped type is good. And if DR stacks multiplicatively, then getting another 1% can be significant.

For example, if you have 80% and 80%, you get 96% overall, but adding that second 80% decreased the damage you take by 80%. If you increase one of those to 81%, your overall DR only goes up to 96.2%, but that still means you went from taking 4% damage to taking 3.8%, which is a 5% reduction in damage taken.

Yeah but you not getting 1 percent to one of those. so you got that 96 percent and getting 1 percent to a 3rd type. So you get 96.04 percent total dr.

People are allowed to point out stupidity though. If you don’t agree, suck it.

I do understand that now. I played WoW from vanilla-Wrath, back THEN you used the forum to communicate. I had no idea that the new style of the forum was Facebook. Even back then, a post that INSULTED NO ONE could be answered by a decent person with more knowledge about the subject. Instead, I was attacked, called bad, told I was stupid, screamed I was this and that… I am 29 years old I OWN my OWN $645k home, a nice car, I make a mid-range 6-figure salary, and I am a “loser” to the most debased, ignorant societal rejects, literally the bottom-feeders of the earth, that never will contribute anything meaningful to the society… IF I had the power to remove this post, I WOULD have done it 5 min after I posted it.

That’s still a 1% decrease in damage taken. And even if you have nothing else that does DR vs burning, you’re going from 8% to 10% (since the bonus doubles it), you you’d go from 96.32 to 96.4%, which is a little more than a 2% decrease in damage taken. And some of the other nodes go into the bigger buckets.

Even if they were all purely multiplicative and you only get about half the boost from warding on average, this would mean you go from 10 to 15, 6.5 to 12.5, 8 to 10, 8 to 10, and 4 to 5. So you go from 31.6% DR with all of them to 57.3%. Which is almost a 40% reduction in damage taken.

Better read those patch notes again. That 1 percent increase is only to the bonus there is no doubling it. Already get 5 percent for the main stat that 1 percent increase is taking the bonus from 4 to 5.

You just listed two core skills before complaining about this.

Tell me you have never played a sorc without using the words. Do yourself a favor and make one, and look at the skill tree. You will then understand exactly how dumb your comment is. Thanks for trying.

No it isn’t. I pasted the notes, they specifically mention the bonuses getting buffed too.

    • Damage reduction from burning enemies increased from 4% to 5%.
    • Bonus damage reduction from burning enemies increased from 4% to 5%.
  • Guarded Rare Node
    • Damage reduction from Vulnerable enemies increased from 4% to 5%.
    • Bonus damage reduction from Vulnerable enemies increased from 4% to 5%

I have only played Sorc. If you somehow think core skill buffs are useless to two core skills idk what to say.

Are you trying to complain that you want to not use defensives? Because your point is completely idiotic and does not come off that way at all.

I see, so you misunderstood my post, I understand. Yes in t-3 I could run Blizzard and Inferno, now in T-4 I run 4 defensive skills and deep freeze. It’s not the way I would like to play, I have to play that way. I simply copy/paste the patch notes on what they were buffing. Nothing they are buffing has anything to do with Ice Mage. I love playing ice sorc. I miss Blizzard, I can run blizz with groups. That mediocre buff they give for standing in your blizz will KILL you in a t-40+ dungeon if you are solo, so there is no need to pretend it is in ANY way helpful
