Fireball’s Critical Strike Damage is increased by 20%. This bonus is increased to 30% if Fireball hits at least 3 enemies.
Greater Chain Lightning
Each time Chain Lightning bounces, it deals 5% increased damage for its duration.
Destructive Chain Lightning
Chance to form Crackling Energy increased from 25% to 30%.
I am a level 75 sorc, I run FOUR defensive skills and the Deep Freeze ultimate to stay alive. That leaves me 1 core skill for raw damage. How is any of this going to help me?
Passives
Vyr’s Mastery
Damage bonus increased from 10% to 15%.
Esu’s Ferocity
Additional functionality:
Both bonuses are also granted for 3 seconds when hitting a Boss with a Critical Strike.
Combustion
Your Burning effects deal x20% increased damage, plus an additional x2% increased damage per unique source of Burning you have applied to the enemy.
Per unique source… So I will be forced to use, for example, the useless fireball and say the useless Hydra to get additive bonuses? Isn’t that the opposite of making Sanctuary my own? I don’t want to play like that, but we’re also adding mob density AND increasing the Boss hitpoints. Won’t that make MY way even less fun?
Paragon Changes
Not useful, and either not explained well in the campfire, or I misunderstood and missed an opportunity to enquire about this. Either way, I thought you were doing some positive changes to the glyphs, as in the glyphs we level via NM dungeons. As it stands, changing rare nodes on unusable paths of paragons will destroy my damage. I would have to take alternative routes and drop NEEDED DPS nodes, because of all the paragon requirements to get there. There is no damage reduction with any of these changes that will allow me to fight for extended times. I simply MUST kill or be killed within moments, less than a second. I don’t want to sound insulting, forgive me if it seems that way, but do ANY of you play a Sorcerer, with non-min-maxed gear? For sure there are POWERFUL mages out there. They don’t have “more skill” or a “better build” they have better RNG. “Get Gud” does not apply. You can’t really expect to nerf normal players who are TRYING to enjoy the game, because a few, or even quite a few people have managed to acquire BIS gear. A lot of us haven’t and the struggle is REAL. Let the powerful reign, it doesn’t impact me, what DOES impact me, is when you try to curtail “the powerful” by punishing the weak.
I was a lot more hopeful that you would indeed bring us, the sorcerer’s back up to a reasonable level of defense. At the moment i have 6k armor, 5k health, and 4k attack power, as a sorcerer. I have tried every trick I know and even looked at guides to help, but guides are 90% dependent on GEAR or aspects that I don’t have. What is the suggestion here? How is this fulfilling your promise to “Make Sanctuary your own, play how you want to play?”
Legendaries
No love for the Frostbliz? I literally depend on this to stay alive.
I am writing this here, in hopes that one of YOU, Diablo 4 devs, or faculty read it. You can even DM me if you prefer. I am asking in earnest, as a fan of the Diablo franchise.
Last time i checked boards are for discussion. Don’t know why you would think you are the best theorycrafter there is.
Also what do you want to accomplish by making a thread and then only wanting applause?
I didn’t write that to you. I didn’t ask for any fanfare or “applause” I asked a sincere question. I am happy you like the direction the sorcs are headed in, I wished for more. I believe I stated clearly what I wanted, including that I hoped someone from the Dev team would read it. If you want to fight with someone, please go somewhere else
I think I made it very clear who I was writing to.
I did. You clearly don’t understand the buffs to the paragon board. Sorc is going to be insanely strong. They’re already clearing T100 and Uber Lilith with mediocre builds like arc lash. You might not be able to run exactly the same board your current build does, but there will be a way to utilize the damage reduction nodes and/or glyphs without tanking your damage.
Sorry but they have more skill than you. Calling people who utilize trading or spend more hours farming “lucky” is absurd. There’s no luck in obtaining enigma the first or second week of every single D2 ladder season. You just farm the right monsters and trade up for it. If it works every single time you do it, it’s not luck, it’s you. If you make a bowazon as your first character every season, that’s on you.
Similarly, in D4, you charge gold for boosts, trade items that are good and aren’t for you build, and trade gold for items you need. This requires in-depth understanding of multiple builds and stat rolls for every meta build, which means the player has more knowledge than the average, which equates to more skill. You can 100% have all 4/4 items by level 90. The only reason it took me to 100 on one of my characters so far was because the amulet I traded for was level 100 requirement to save gold
Do you know what theory-crafting even is? It’s an educated GUESS. I am level 75 sorcerer. I have applicable experience to make a judgment based on my experiences. I am not looking at spreadsheets and theory-crafting. But thanks for your feedback that I didn’t ask for.
I’m not understanding how anyone could think that the supposed buffs or changes to Sorc are good or beneficial? I just don’t even. Perhaps there is something I’m not seeing yet. Perhaps there will be some builds that arise.
Maybe, and I say that lightly, it might help lightning builds a tiny bit? I cannot even see that. I ran arch lash in eternal and loved it, other than for me it felt a little weak and also survivability was bad. The build sort of reminded me of CM wiz back in the day, in an odd sort of way, even if not cold based, we have to run nova.
Also, I would love to play a fireball/blizzard Sorc like in D2. There is no understanding on how they built Sorc/Wiz in this game and how they continue to be oblivious - same with Barb.
I see, well thanks for sharing that. I am not sure how that will help me as I am missing some key aspects, but sincerely I don’t know this was something official from Blizzard. So in the future, I might utilize it. But key aspects are my biggest issue. I don’t care if I am perfectly min-maxed. Others care about that, I want to enjoy the game My way like they promised.
Not sure I would suggest trading right now, though I am not in that group. With all that’s been going on with the recent exploits, a player might get falsely banned or have to pay an exorbitant amount of gold. This is only from what I’m hearing and reading of course.
