it’s like that in last epoch because of their crafting system. You can gets shards of an affix for crafting purposes by salvaging items… D4 has no crafting system.
Yes, probably the filter in D4 should be different. You need to pick all rares for the vendor. The filtered trash could directly drop as gold. Or it could at least highlight the filtered items in you inventory, so you wouldn’t have to check 10000 trash items for a single good one.
If you aren’t filtering out 99.9% of rare items in PoE by level 80, you are playing wrong. Yes a rare COULD drop that has potential. but 99.9% of the rares you find in PoE past level 80 are unlikely to be an upgrade to what you have on.
And on trade, You are more likely to get an upgrade just getting raw currency drops and trading for someone elses quad t3 rare item than you spending the time ID’ing an item and ending up putting it on.
This yeah. I facepalm when people ask for a WT5. WT4 is already a waste of space in the current game as it is!
Farmable bosses are boringgggg
You are advocating to slave away for a trickle of super rare items once every few weeks.
I do agree there should be more and tradable hard to get items that drop anywhere so there’s always a feeling of something big around the corner that has more reasonable rates than Shakos.
In PoE, It’s getting divine orbs, or Empower/Enlighten.
I think one thing they need to do is make aspects tradable. Getting a perfect aspect for something you aren’t gonna use feels worthless currently.
I don’t think poofing the items into gold is good either, again doesn’t give items weighting. You want the gold, then you gotta pick em up, port town, hit up the vendor and sell em. Then you are choosing to prioritize your time whether it be doing a couple more dungeons per hour, or making 5 more mil per hour (or w/e the values are). I’ll die of cringe if they add some sort of pet that vendors for you.
in the example i said i think you should be able to specify the item power, but not affixes. As soon as you say “only show me maxroll ring with crit/crit/vuln/life” for example this nullifies the weight of literally every other ring in the game. There is no inventory management, there is no checking items that you pick up.
It could be the case that this is what you think is ideal, but i think it’s bad for the game overall. We may just have different opinions
Most of your comment is a l2p issue.
Regarding classes, it was well known which classes would be available at release, so that’s a mood point.
well that doesn’t sound good lol
Look they scrambled to make a game to get everyone to buy it so they could sell to microsoft… Clearly
One of the good “Dramatic Posts”. Elaborated on the matter and actually nailing it without falling into a hate-spiral.
And I would actually sign with my name on OP’s thread. Diablo IV is the worst when it comes to loot. I’ve described it as gallons of Junk you always have to either sell or trash at the smithie. The first time something legendary pops up you will feel the old joy of yore. When for the 5000th times a legendary item in Diablo IV drops, you will not even look at it anymore and just sell or trash it ath the smithie. And seeing another unique? Well, it’s either nerfed to trash like Gohrs Grips or this god damn ring, Mothers Embrace.
I will not say now that getting good gear wasn’t a hassle in Diablo II. But to be very fair here, when something good dropped in Diablo II it was most often a real banger. Getting something good or great in Diablo II was work, but it paid off and the more joy I’ve felt as a player.
In Diablo IV on the other hand, there aren’t real Legendaries anymore. Let’s be serious here. You can turn any crap item you want to a Legendary item because Legendaries a simply reduced to unique aspects that are, in most cases, crap to begin with.
The biggest problem with loot in Diablo IV are the myariads of junk you collect without any payoff. Of course I’m, again, not talking about some streamers with 5 Level 100 characters who are playing 10 hours a day because it’s their job. For everyone else, finding good loot in Diablo IV is a nightmare. It’s far worse than in the darkest times of Diablo III. Especially when you receive loot in Diablo IV that’s not even made for your character and the Occultist is giving you for overpriced money next to nothing when you overwrite an aspect that’s crap for the class you play.
I know a lot of people will say, “not another post like this”. But that is literally what the forums are for and its the only way Blizzard will take any of the issues seriously.
These posts need to keep coming up, over and over and over. Its the only way change will happen. As long as they are written in a well thought out manner and not just someone throwing a tantrum i think its completely fine.
Its crazy how sometimes the smallest little details speaks the loudest, for me it was the font they initially had in the beta before people complained about how odd it looked and it got changed. In my mind, it makes absolutely no sense how a whole entire production/design team looked at the font and said it fits. Little tiny minuscule things like that speak volumes on the bigger misses in the game. If they couldnt initially get the font to fit the game, how can we expect item design overall to look great and not generic copy pastes of each other (for the most part, not all, some are cool for sure).
Now correct me if I’m wrong, maybe that font was a place holder but if i recall it got changed due to feedback.
D2 is hot garbage…and always will be…PERIOD. That game was utter trash right out the gate and it took 8 years to make it even some what palatable. Copying trash just ='s more trash.
I think if the affixes were more useful or tailored to your class this could make legendaries feel more meaningful.
What I expect the case to be, is that Blizzard has decided to create a ton of uniques but only release them slowly as seasons unfold. This maximizes their battle pass and micro transaction revenues. They have a live service model but no MRR. So they will try to optimize on player retention via seasons.
So in many respects this beta is a bait and switch-a.
This is all incredibly obvious, too. Just goes to show that the developers don’t even play the game that they are designing. They couldn’t possibly have put any time into this game and not noticed these obvious problems.
Yeah, played them all and in all of the the loot is always “going through the trash in hope someone by mistake lost engagement ring”. If you don’t want to go through a bunch of trash loot then this is not the genre for you.
I’m disappointed there are no set items.
in d2 if a unique ring drops i get excited…i mean it’s a 99% chance to be another manald heal but there is that small chance it’s something cool like a soj. there is that hope.
in d4, i don’t even look at uniques no more: i just straight up vendor them b/c that’s all they are good for.
it makes the loot chase just…pointless.
such a terrible design tbh.
- Uniques suck - not only 95% of them are unusable D-tier, but they don’t even have unique looks… Seriously blizzard? Unique item is not having unique art set… at multi-billion development studio as if this was some budget indie game.
They had 12 years to draw some icons for uniqs, but … here we are ))
I wonder. Do they even know that diablo is about items? Seems not.
Yep, the massive pool of items is what made Diablo exciting in previous iterations of the game, especially in LoD expansion.
You see a unique drop and you’re like
“What? I’ve never seen that before! What the hell is this! TP to town to ID it Holy crap thats crazy!!”
There were so many different ways to build your character due to the massively diverse pool of items.
I read somewhere D4 drops unID items. They auto-ID on pick up. So I think that’s what he meant.
