Simple fact - NOTHING EXCITING EVER DROPS in Diablo IV

loot fatigue, too many things drop, and 99% are crap.

they should tone down the drop rates on rares and legendaries by a lot. and maybe make it so certain affixes have higher % chance to appear on an item that a certain affix appeared.

I agree with the main post that nothing exciting ever drops. I, however, do not want charms taking up inventory space (all I remember from decades ago is charms in Diablo 2, unless you mean something else - the items that take inventory slot yeah?)

Even if it had it’s own slot though I’m not too sure how I’d feel about another layer, but probably would improve the excitement of loot a little bit if there were OBTAINABLE YET POWERFUL ONES.

Frankly, uber uniques being unicorns is the main thing that ruins the fun. The coolest items in the game will never be seen by the vast majority of us.

Yah loot isn’t in a great spot. You never get that dopamine hit really. The closest thing is the uniques really, and as it stands now, none of us will realistically see any of the ubers (unless they add a target farmable method, akin to div cards in poe - or significantly increase drop rates)

Let’s say I’ve played on my level 100 char for a few weeks and found multiple of the same unique, let’s say tempest roar. I’m already using it, and have no use for it, i just vendor it for gold because for whatever reason you can’t trade it. So i get a whopping 150k or w/e the value is.

But what if there was a functioning trade system and i could trade it and the market value was 30 million? that might be able for me to purchase an upgrade for another gearslot.

As it stands now i see a unique and i think ok +100-200 k gold, which is like selling 5 random rares to vendor. Doesn’t feel good in any way to be honest

we need ALL items to be tradeable and we need a functioning trade system IN GAME.

NOT a third party inefficient, unsearchable discord server where you have to do some basic “search” then stare at garbage posts and pictures of items.

what? Have you ever played games like Diablo II? Path of Exile? Grim Dawn? Titan Quest? Last Epoch? Even Diablo III was better. It had legendary items that were cool and I know all of their names. D4 Uniques? - can’t even remember name of the only unique usable on Sorc - it’s that teleport chest whatever it’s called - I found 3 of those, wore it since like level 72 or so and I can’t even remember one name. That’s how exciting loot is this game.

Season 1 will be over in 2-3 weeks for most, because they’ll get bored to death of nothing cool happening ever in this game. Many probably won’t even return for Season 2 - because why, we all saw everything game has on offer in pre-season already.

Which why I said it would dedicated pouch of charms - just like Last Epoch handles Idols: assets.maxroll.gg/wordpress/Gear-Inventory.jpg

Need to copy paste because silly forum doesn’t even allow to post direct links - so pretty much you have dedicated slots just like for gear - and you have to tetris them in as the come in various sizes and those slots have uneven shape to make it more interesting as you can see in the picture. I specifically mentioned it would need some adapting to modern age - because ofc we don’t want to use our inventory for them - which is why easy solution is to make limited size pouch with dedicated slots just to carry charms and only those in pouch would count as active.

Outside of graphics and nostalgia literally every ARPG is better than this game in every way.

That’s why D4 is now hovering around #30 on twitch and still falling. lol

Ye the item with 3 or four desired stats same as everyone else has. Such fun. If that item is like that it basically means you are never going to replace it, why continue playing then ?

Also the damage to players is ridiculous on adventurer. I solo a lot in Diablo games, and they claim that enemies are easy to kill on adventurer. Not so! When you get swarmed you absolutely get wrecked! also I totally agree on loot drops. They are very scarce and crappy compared to Diablo 3. This makes me really sad as I was looking forward to a new Diablo game. Also, I wish there were more character classes to choose from. Crusaders are my most favorite class and I am sad not to see them in this game. Very disappointed with this game this far.

Wait till season 6. It’ll be fixed.
However, most of us will be gone.
After seeing starfield trailer, I won’t come back after season 1.
They should fix everything in season 1 and hold players but their bad management says the opposite

Agreed. If only they would listen.

Game needs a LOOT FILTER. “Rare” items with 3 well rolled affixes are quite rare (lol). If you could configure what you see on the ground and when to show the vertical beam of light, it could be more exciting. Most newer arpgs have this basic feature.

Loot isn’t the only important thing. You also need something to DO with that loot as you get it. The game currently lacks that as well. At least in D3 you had personal best times to try to beat. Trying to clear even higher GR tiers, trying to clear them faster. There were leaderboards for those that want to compare themselves to others.

This game currently only has NM 100 and Uber Lilith to do. Those also have some gimicky mechanics that swing their challenge level drastically. There’s simply no reason to gather the best gear because there’s nothing to do with it after.

nah this would be bad

also items aren’t identified til you pick them up

i think the idea of loot filters is nice so i could have a couple setups

gold farming setup: show all rares, make acestrals with item power 780+ have a different color border or icon in your inventory they could be easily identifiable in your inventory, then you can mass sell the items you dont’ care for for gold, manually check the few that met your requirements and move on

good item only: hide all items except ones that meet your requirements, i.e. ip 780 gloves and helmet for example, then you spend less time looking at items on ground, and will do several maps before the need to even visit a vendor… once you fill up you’d manually check each item for it’s stats

could also make it so things that are 815 or 820 or w/e give us a tink sound and have a light beam for example

but yah regardless of the setup you want, i don’t think it’s good for the game if we can see the affixes before the item is picked up… but a loot filter of some sort would be nice

Yeah a complete rare loot filter that scans the mods probably wouldn’t be good, but most games can at least sort by item type, item level, etc. and make uniques and other notable things more obvious to reduce the clutter a bit.

i still have lvl 60 items that are way better stat wise over anything my current lvl (75) which i jsut hit but up to 74 im still using lower lvl items… this jsut feels wrong. also sorc is weak AF

You don’t see the affixes before the item is picked up. You select the affixes (and their min values) for the items that you want to see on the ground. That’s how it works in other games. You usually have a very wide filter in the beginning and you tighten it up as you get better gear, so you’ll see only items that are relevant to you and items that you could use on your alts or trade.

It’s not even clear they’re in the green yet. AAA games cost upwards of $1B these days, and this game was more expensive than most with the constant delays, COVID policies, heavy marketing, etc.

I only got one upgrade from lvl 80 to lvl 100, so it’s normal in this game and it gets worse towards the end.

What?

For example path of exile, i see a rare hubris circlet on the ground. It’s unid. I pick it up and use scroll of wisdom. Now i can see that is has XXX stats on it.

You can’t see that it has XXX stats on it prior to picking it up and id’ing it. You can hide the rare or you can show it. You can choose to hide or show it based on item level (or in this case we’d be concerned with item power). You can choose to hide or show it based on the base type of the item.

You want the filter to only show the item with XXX stats on it and hide it otherwise? Yah, you might think you want this, but it’s bad for the game overall. It doesn’t put any weight on inventory management. You might as well have them just not have an inventory and email you a list of the items you found.

I’ve played Last Epoch with a filter like that, and it was the best Loot Filter I’ve ever used. And it was not how you describe it. Still had a full inventory of items to manage.
