yup refunded my 3 purchases of this. its 2023 and blizzard still has ques in place especially for this beta. im a collector and i just wanted to jump on and get my lvl 20 items then log.
refund it is because…this is going to be Diablo 3 all over again at launch too. i have better games and companies to support than this trash company. this was the last straw for me. multimillion dollar company too greedy to invest in better servers or…now heres a thought, offline play. but nah they cant have that…gaming just isnt fun anymore and its too much red tape and BS to jump through just to play something.
hope MS buys these guys out and fires almost everyone. Blizzard has been garbage for years now.
personally i wouldnt care if they didnt have the level 20 and get some cosmetic stuff.
Even if that stuff were to show up in a cash shop that would be fine but i like collecting things and waiting for hours in que…nah think ill just pass all together. too many other good games coming out anyways. ill keep tossing my money at the smaller and significatly better game devs and companies than this greedy company.
I’d rather be in a long queue than be one of the engineers having to resolve connection problems because the game had a massively successful pre-order.
Perhaps we should wish the Blizzard team the best and encourage them, maybe provide insight from a client perspective instead of focusing on our own needs.
Some andies in here trying to deflect from the point others are making. A portion of the purchases were made with the promised early access, and yet people are unable to get in. With a 2 day access point, it’s unacceptable. They need to either extend it 1 more day after fixing it, or expect a lot of angry customers to do charge backs or ask for refunds. They paid for something and are ultimately not getting it.
You pre ordered to test during a stress test. Now you are upset you are part of a stress test server meltdown in the first hours of the test. You don’t seem to understand the assignment.
this is not correct, Pre-purchase is directly for early access. If you need to refresh your memory please go look at all those advertising materials. It is written right there on D4 beta webpage. PRE-PURCHASE FOR EARLY ACCESS TO THE OPEN BETA
If I don’t care or I don’t want to have early access to open beta, why would I pre-purchase? if the game is the only thing that I’m buying for, I could have bough in June 2023 or even next year. Pre-purchase is specifically for early access, period. How can one argue against that is beyond me.
Then go refund it yourself and quit being lazy? You have the option to refund any pre-order game, at least with Blizzard without an issue before the game s released if you did not play it a bunch.
I don’t get why you people are crying over getting on the beta asap. It’s not an insane wait for the game surprisingly compared to other popular titles and it’s so silly refunding a game you are hyped about over a beta that does not matter. This is one of those games that can be played for hundreds or even thousands of hours if you enjoy it, a beta weekend is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
Yeah, it sucks not getting to play right away, but that’s life. Every popular title has had these issues and will continue having them at release for years to come.
It’s not hard to tell who the Blizzard toadies are. They’d be the ones sucking up. This beta has been no surprise, Half of these issues should have been sorted out due to the popularity of the game, and the player expectations. To cater to your streamers, so they can go about saying how great and wonderful everything is is total BS. I worked for a studio, this in not good business, and forshadows the issues they’ll have with the actual launch.
there are people who paid for a game that wasn’t out yet SPECIFICALLY so they could participate in the server stability tests (because that’s what an open beta IS, primarily).
then, on the day where HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE all tried to access the server stability test at the same time…there were bugs.
therefore…refunds are warranted.
to someone with even a vague understanding of what a beta test IS, this might be the stupidest take I’ve seen so far, and there’s someone trying to push for a class-action lawsuit because their favorite streamer didn’t get disconnected from the server when they did.
maybe don’t sign up for beta tests in the future. maybe try waiting for the game to LAUNCH, then seeing whether the servers function OUTSIDE of a public server stability test before taking to the forums to complain about the servers.
or maybe just stop preordering games entirely, because this happens 100% of the time and isn’t getting LESS stupid over time.
I don’t know about everyone but I did not ask and expect to have issue-free game time of D4 at the first minute that early access has become available, my issue is with the long queue and then at the end of the queue you might yet hit again with disconnect or other issues. It’s good you don’t think 2 hour wait is insane, then feel free to wait. Since you are so indfferent in waiting, I wish everyone else waiting time could be shifted to your magically so others don’t need to wait.
If you think beta does not matter and irrelevant, I sincerely hope you don’t even try to log in these 2 weekends and do others who actually care a favour by freeing up a slot in the queue.
And it is crystal clear that the purpose of pre-purchase is early access, it is stated at the D4 beta webpage: PRE-PURCHASE FOR EARLY ACCESS TO THE OPEN BETA
If somehow someone doesn’t care about early access and open beta but yet pre-purchased the game, I wonder what the person was thinking when he/she made the purchase.
I pre ordered because I knew I would play the game and wanted what ever exlusive skins it would include. The early access weekend is just a bonus at no extra cost.
beta does not equal to “public server stability test”, if it’s stated anywhere in Blizzard T&C for pre-purchasing D4, please enlighten me.
If Blizzard’s intention is only to conduct a public server stability test but yet name it open beta, something is wrong or one can call it a blatant lie for enticing people to pre-purchase. I think most people don’t expect a significant portion of their time spent on beta is waiting, crashing, disconnecting. Rather, they would expect a considerable amount of time of actually playing the game.
It’s amazing that people seem to be forgetting what’s the purpose of games and why one would pay for them. I pay for D4 for fun and entertainment, not pay money to Blizzard and yet be their “employee” to test their products. Testing and giving them feedback to resolve issues and improve the game is something they need to be appreciative towards, by right it is the company’s job to resolve issues and improve the game.
okay, I accept your reason and respect that, but I wonder how many are like you that only care about the skins and not the beta and early access at all.
