Recurring Game Crash and Hanging

As mentioned by this thread already 06/09/2024: Diablo 4 recurring game crashing issues

Freezes on random occasions:

  • opening pit
  • opening vendor ui (temper, repair, buy, sell, etc)
  • opening inventory

I noticed this constant crashing after 1.4.2 patch

Other worth mentioning:

  • purchased expa and equipped transmogs

Things I’ve tried:

  • renaming storage.dll files as mentioned by others in forums
  • reinstalling as mentioned by others in forums

Your not alone, i have the same, at first it was only on my old pc, running D4 fine, untill patch 1.4 came.
Today and update came, after the update on my game pc, where im playing d4 on for 2 years now, also hang, hang, hang…
since patch 1.4, directly after the update, start up and hang, needed to retry 3 times before i could enter the game, after that, it was running fine, untill todays update.

We can try anything we want, but bizzard needs to fix this!!

Sucks that this started happening right after I prepurchased expansion. lol.

Funny - mine started just before the new “update”. I did not run the PTR

Constant crashes - game is not playable - Technical Support - Diablo IV Forums (blizzard.com)

part of my last post:
Crashes occur on all starting screens, loading screens, logging on to Diablo servers etc., character screens, character creation screen (took 4 attempts to create a new character), cut screens, in town, fighting out of town (I made it to level 4 - took about 30 - 40 restarted due to constant crashes).

Same errors:

I may not have played D IV for a couple of days - but the crashes started on the 22 of Sept. I manually update drivers - they had not changed for weeks. I did try the latest ones - but it didn’t help.

Oh - changed graphic settings - lowered (looked like carp) raised, went to GeForce experience and changed them, manually changed them in the gamer - no difference.

PC: i7-9700K
32GB RAM
RTX-2070
Win11

Nothing else crashes - only D IV

Before last month I had played since the 1st Beta with NO crash issues. Early crash stutters were due to cross platform being open, closed that and never looked back or had any issues,until 9/22/24
