06/09/2024: Diablo 4 recurring game crashing issues

Persistent recurring issues upon software game updates introducing new features and updates.

Report ID:
E4A7BF6F-E713-4DB9-A68C-BDBD23DCFE8A

The new software patch is Diablo 4 for pets in causing memory leak issues in the game which is causing game crashes to the Windows10 desktop.
I completed the Quest for the new pet companion in Koveshad and equipped the pet then the game crashed to my Windows 10 desktop.
There were zero issues until this new patch was downloaded and installed.

Blizzard will need to correct this issue ASAP.
This is the same or similar issue that was present in the Season 4 patch release which was only recently corrected and seems to be a recurring problem with the low quality of products being released and introduced by Blizzard software coders.

Game just crashed here, first crash in I don’t know how many months. Lost my HC character. :frowning:

Same here. Can’t even login. Just crashes at “Connecting to Diablo IV Services”

Seems very Blizzard - release a patch on a Sunday riddled with a massive bug, then let’s just not fix it. Lmao.

That is absolutely terrible. Sorry to hear.

i’m having massive issues too, can’t stay in for more than a pit at a time (if I’m lucky)

I feel for you. I cannot even login.

I just saw that D4 was using 54GB of ram (just before a crash) so somewhere is a rather large memory leak

yep. just looked at the crash data. it is devastatingly obvious. they do this crap all the time - randomly release something, but have no one available to fix it.

I’m also crashing randomly during combat after 5 or so minutes in game. This needs to be fixed asap otherwise the whole event is wasted…

I can’t even launch the game so at least you guys have that going for you.

i’m in the same boat, it opens, immediately crashes while connecting. it’s infuriating.

I was OK for a week but now crashing constantly.
To me it looks like everytime they release a patch while playing it starts to crash for me and I have to reboot the PC to get the game stable again

I can’t even get the game to launch. I hit play, it fails to launch, tells me I gotta update, I do, displays “play” again, click it and it just loops like this.

Same issue here, can’t even launch the game. Like wtf are their programmers even doing?

Same problem here… even re-installed GPU drivers since they had an update prior starting the game. No luck so far.

it is really pissing me off that its been 24 hours and still no update to fix it. i kinda just want my money back at this point, they finally give us a season worth playing and we can’t even login.

There are multiple posts, by different users, all experiencing some form of crash, extreme latency and rubber banding, instability, or an inability to even start the game… and absolutely no communications or response.

Is there even a proper CR person? That adam dude is basically useless, just an empty mouthpiece for parroting PR blurbs and talking about other extraneous, useless stuff on his twitter account. No wonder their company is a complete sh** show, in all aspects.

i think they left the rookie programmers in charge. who knows. why in god’s name they would release such a hunk of trash on a sunday with no one to fix it, then just push people pre-ordering when we can’t even play is beyond me lol.

i agree with everything you have said, by the way. they do this every time, and never learn. i think they just don’t care.

I mean you touched on it in your response – some prick(s) in a suit keeps seeing people buying into cosmetics and basically pushes them to keep throwing the store stuff in players’ faces. I’d be willing to bet the vast majority of the patch is store based cosmetic garbage, and the tweaks they did make were done by inexperienced / trash devs they picked up and imported on the cheap.

This isn’t a game developed by gamers, it’s made by some greedy clown watching his analytics and reporting to shareholders (is that you, Rod…?). It took how many months and iterations to finally fix sh** to an acceptable level for people to come back, and then they push this garbage out.

It’s clear they don’t give a damn when they have people’s money already. They likely only fixed when it became apparent people went elsewhere to play what they enjoyed. They need yet another full clean house sweep of their entire teams… yeah right, never going to happen.
