Pre-Purchased but cant find the game

So, i purchased the game on April 10 on battle.net. But i still havent gotten a code or anything to install it. Also, can a standard version be upgraded?
On my battle.net account i can see Diablo IV on the game list, but i cant click on it or do anything with it.

EDIT: I have upgraded it, but still cant find it on my xbox. My account is connected to the xbox.

You should be able to go to the default version of the game in the store and download it. No matter what edition it’s the same download.

Would it not be shown as “Owned” ? All i see now is pre-purchase on all 3 versions on the Xbox. But it looks like i can install on windows.

Hopefully this isn’t the issue:

I’m hoping someone from Blizzard can confirm this. I can’t seem to find any direct info on it yet, but it sounds like the Blizzard/Battlenet version is PC only… You may need to purchase it on the console’s store and refund the battlenet one. :frowning:

so during the alpha last year i was perfectly able to play on my battlenet and on my xbox i had ZERO issues playing on both

Purchasing a game for PC from the Blizzard store automatically adds that game key to your account. To download you follow the directions here

If you wish to play on another platform, you would need to buy the game on that platform. A PC copy won’t allow you to play that game on the Console.

Yes. Bnet sells the PC license. Microsoft sells the Xbox license. Sony sells the Playstation license.

They can all be linked to one Battlenet account, but must be purchased separately.

that is untrue there was a whole email last year that explained how it was done. and i played my same account on my xbox and PC during the alpha

Well, your account was flagged for it. Apparently when not involving money it isn’t an issue, but when actually buying the game, it has to be bought from the platform you are going to use it on, which is what MissCheetah’s post suggests.

The alpha and closed beta were accessible because your battlenet account was flagged for it.

Now why buying the game makes a difference, I don’t know, but that is what appears to be going on here.

You purchase it from a site that is for the PC side, and its only going to run on PC.

If I recall correctly, D3 was no different.

That all said, I agree, it shouldn’t be. You should be able to buy it on one platform and play it on any platform, that would make more sense. lol

Here is the basic Cross Play and Cross Progression Support article

CROSS-PROGRESSION

Cross-Progression allows you to play a game on PC, console, or mobile while keeping progress and collections across all devices. For paid games, Cross-Progression does not mean that you can buy a game for one platform and then play it on any platform; you are still required to buy the game for each platform. :point_left:

Cross-Progression is currently available in Call of Duty, Hearthstone, Diablo Immortal, Diablo IV, Diablo II: Resurrected, and Overwatch 2.

WHAT’S NEEDED

Cross-Play and Cross-Progression in Blizzard games require that you link your console and Battle.net accounts. For Blizzard games that feature Cross-Progression, your progress is stored on your Battle.net account.

Cross-Play and Cross-Progression in Activision games require that you link your console and Activision accounts. For Activision games that feature Cross-Progression, your progress is stored on your Activision account.
