They said no to P2W gameplay mechanics like the real money auction house from vanilla Diablo III. What happens through business/advertisement decisions is fair game.
Iâm not saying early access isnât an advantage, but thatâs not the same as P2W. EA is essentially paying for access to the game, which is the same as buying the game. Is buying the game P2W, since you canât even access the servers if you donât pay?
Hell, you can even consider buying the game on day 1 for $70 a form of early access, considering a lot of people might wait and try to get the game cheaper during a sale.
It is if you give out a trophy, not that Blizzard would make that mistake.
Who is being given a trophy? Those 1000 arent. They get their account name engraved on something theyll never physically see.
Hell ill do that right now for you on a spare board in my shed if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy. Its the same thing.
Yeah, guessing you didnât see the thread with the EA people crying about streamers.
What are they winning?
I thought P2W was for player powerâŚ
Hell this isnât even a D4 cosmetic. This is a out of game IRL itemâŚ
Oh, look, another soft, weak-minded, and âvictimizedâ Diablo âfanâ crying about some obscure form of âharmâ thatâs been committed against their fragile little ego.
I swear, for all its glory, Diablo attracts some of the weakest and most ignorant little snowflakes.
You never had a shot at winning this event anyways, because winners compete, and losers cry on forums.
People who had access to WotlK classic beta could strategize their leveling to get server first for an achievement. While beta access is free, itâs still a lottery system. Races to be first in video games is inherently unfair. It sucks, but if the reward is something as meaningless as a name being etched in tiny print on a statue youâll never see, then itâs not worth crying about that much.
game is seasons.
S1 wonât start for like a month or soemthing.
by then every1 will of played game enough to learn the mechanics/builds.
I am confused. What did I win?
And that thing is called a trophy.
Last I checked that was a reward⌠at best. Being given a trophy geneally means handed something you get to own and display or at least hold for a second, and again they ARENT BEING GIVEN ANYTHING.
Words mean things.
There is no in game benefit involved here.
However it has elements of âfomoâ. It basically is an announcement of you have to pay extra for early access or be at a disadvantage for an âofficial raceâ? kinda.
Itâs not pay2win but is it 100% ethical? naah. But it is what it is.
I agree so I wish youâd show more concern with yours.
The trophy is the reward of your name being engraved in a statue and shown off to the world.
That is the trophy, a tangible object showing your accomplishment.
It doesnât have to exist in your hands or in your possession, this is pure silliness.
Words mean things, so use them better.
Locked away in a blizz building that maybe a handful who get it will ever actually see.
If thats your idea of shown off to the world, your definition of world is a whole lot smaller than everyone elseâs.
Agreed. The amount of reaching about how valuable this reward is is silly. I will more often see peopleâs cosmetics they buy from a cash shop than I will a trophy locked away at Blizzard HQ and a thousand posts buried on a twitter account.
Which will be a ton more than in the house of a sweaty gamer who no lifed it.
Putting it on a statue where it would be observed by way more people is a far more prestigious thing than being given a trophy where it gets shoved in a closet in a house no one visits.
But theyll be able to brag to all the kids at the playground about it, and show them a picture where their account name is so small its not even ledgable in said picture. SO COOL AND VALUABLE!!
âSee that smudge there, I swear thats my account name!â
lol.
If you think more than 12 people after its placed are going to read them all, and any of those 12 are going to give 2 poos about those names, your delusion extends further than I originally thought. This isnt the Vietnam memorial wall.
Lol.
