This is an open letter to you from your Diablo community, a video game IP that we all love very much. Many of us have been playing it for decades and many of us are new to the franchise.
Please read this thread to hear constructive feedback from the players of this game.
Forum: Please post your constructive feedback here, be polite, courteous, and explain what you like or dislike in the game and why without using name calling or other vulgar or inappropriate language. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to be articulate and well spoken.
Please leave your feedback here like you are speaking directly to the development team. Let’s gather everything together.
We have the proof that they dont care.
100s of post stating the majors issues in game and the QOL that are needed now have been posted.
What they did? destroy the game.
Its cute you think the developers really care what we think. They read these forums more than enough. Actions speak louder than words. If they dont change something after days of whining by 10’s of thousands of people. They dont care what we think. If they do change something, its not because people gave criticism. Its because the game mechanic they designed wasnt working as they initially intended.
Blizzard has already gathered enough information as to who they’ll cater to with this game. They know who’s been buying MTX and how they play. They’ll make the game better for them as they are their future revenue stream.
Already replied to other feedback threads with a lot of suggestions just like thousands of others did, yet none of these things proposed such as search bar/paragon reset/map overlay has been implemented or even thought of.
We provide loads of feedback but they give us nothing back in return.
They say they read forums so most likely we’re just being ignored.
Meh sure might as well post something constructive even tho i know they wont read or care for it.
The game started great and all. i played it a ton like 3x lvl 100 with 2 at bis gear lvl. But seriously the thing that should have been in the game since day 1 that are not have made me lose patience. There are just to many to name them all but here a few example.
A auction house: For the love of god why would make a game that items can be traded to other player and not build a rudimentary AH. Player have to rely on a 3rd party site to trade and it is bad big time.
Chats: It a multiplayer game as you designed it so. the core aspect of a multiplayer game is social…
Basic search functions: Like how was this not added?
PTR: As it seems with the drama we had recently we also have to do the testing side of things before they go live.
Simple quality of life things: that was in d2,d3. You had more than a decade to implement the best of the games before and add a small twist here and there to make it feel “new”. As of now i still feel that d4 was never planed to be released and only started to be worked on for real in the last 1 to 2 years.
there is just to much else. Mounts, total unbalance of things, stability of servers, no offline mode. i will stop there or it would be taking ages.
The game was fun to play as it was a new shiny thing but once you have experienced it, it become unsatisfying. Maybe in 2-3 year it will become great but as of now it nowhere near where it should have been to be ready for the shelves.
There was a lot of constructive feedback on the sorc forum and the cries for survivability buffs and uniques without downsides completely fell on deaf ears. To add insult to injury, the sorc specific defense heart in S1 gives you resist after getting hit.
Add in a huge nerf to the biggest damage abilities (Aspect of Control and Devouring Blaze) with a pittance of buffs to compensate, and you can understand why players of the class are completely upset. I know that everyone got nerfed, but it feels even worse for the class at the bottom that was hoping for some core fixes to the class only to feel like they got thrown another 6 feet under.
To be fair, I bought the hundo pack when it became available, and have bought a ton of skins, and I am setting this game down this season too. And judging by the looks of it, there are way more on that side of the spectrum. They are losing far more money than just “The future revenue stream” they apparently (Using apparently lightly) catering to?
Constructive feedback from a fellow software engineer:
Iterate in smaller doses. This patch was too big. Too many moving parts to accurately predict the in-game effects.
Bugfixes > balance patches.
Include QOL. Check the community boards and assess what the majority of people are clamoring for. Select some QOL patches and include them. The NMD teleport is a great example.
When bugs happen – (and they always will) – treat them the same. Helltides start dropping Ubers? Devs respond immediately… Helltides STOP dropping cinders? Crickets. What message is this sending?
well, we have been nice and constructive since the betas… niceties alone wont make the world spin… people are really pissed off because they are feeling scammed. And they are right. This is not the way to develop a product that’s suppose to last years.
the only constructive advice i could give right now to the product lead is to get their sh1t together, fast, and fix the mess they created…
