One shotting things is bad

I can guarantee you that most people do not hit level 100 in the first 12-24 hours.

You are talking about a very tiny number of people who are doing this. They are going to do that no matter what hurdles are placed in their way. They are best not thought about at all and instead focus on the experience of the majority of players.

the only diablo where it wasn’t the case was diablo 1. (except if you go killing monsters lower level than you i guess)
in diablo 2 as well it was a one shot fiesta as long as you are well equipped

HC players are like vegans. You didn’t ask if they played HC but don’t worry, they’ll tell you.

what does that have to do with HC ?

whether it was in SC or HC : Hota is still broken

The point was, if you level slower than the try-hards, you should expect bosses and whatnot to be destroyed on the regular. They are only level ~75.
Sometimes you get people that just want to be carried, sometimes you get a room full of 100’s. That’s the price of open world content.

What I hate is running around a hell-tide, and finding zero mobs to kill because 3 other people are in your proximity.

How about increase that to 20-30 hours but actually make it work, you know have the mobs evolve and the skills and gear a bit more ?

Quality over Speed anyone ?

Who cares, not everyone plays to be “first”

Can we please get a joyable experience and not being compared or sped-up with “others” ?

And even then - what next ?, say Wudi beats it in 35 hours, you do in 37, what’s the point when there’s nothing to do for next 3 months ?

Like have you ever thought about that problem ?

Again irellevant, just accepting the flaws of the game won’t make it better

Stop being Raxx 2.0, oh the “small inconveniences” are the problem, actually no, there are bigger and greater issues and forced speed onto people is actually one of them

Ok, do I start at say lvl70 ?, no, I have to grind 100 levels, then gear up to all hell and back and THEN play that ?

Screw that man, not everyone has 1500 hours a season at their disposal

And THAT is important, stop pretending like “perfecting a gear” is a competition, it is not

TLDR ? - Speeding-up is NOT the solution

Sounds like you have priorities, and they aren’t seasonal play. That’s fine, but that choice is yours. No reason the rest of us have to suffer for your lack of free time.

Eternal realm is there for you.

If you had read the thread, you might have realized that I was explaining why world bosses get one shot. I was not commenting on the zoom zoom faster harder stronger nature of gaming.

Explain that “suffer” pls ? :person_shrugging:

Here’s my problem - just cause some want to travel 1500km in 10 hours there should be no slopes, no valleys, no shops, no towns, no trafic, certainly no life on the “highway”, and Lillith forbid - no traffic lights along the way

Just motels to sleep if need be, like, THAT’s the current state of things. Now answer yourself the same question - how many enjoy driving 1500km without pause other than take a nap or sleep ?

You know that Grifts are coming in S4 yeah? Also, when I come to play an Action rpg (arpg), I expect just that… action. I come to blow $h*1 up, not methodically anything. I kind of feel that my take is the theme of most if not all arpg’s. I could be wrong though.
Maybe what you want is an rpg like BG3?

I believe there is a cross-over on the Venn Diagram between Vegans, HC players, and Nickelback fans.

Leader boards full of them.

Aand that is how much, like 2% of the playerbase ?

If it took longer, I wouldn’t play at all. Making things slower wont keep me playing.
I get what I want done, then I leave and play other games, till next season.

Living on diablo seems sorta cringe bra.

i played 30 seasons of D3, never stuck around for more than 2-3 weeks.

I’ll play hundreds of hours each season, but eventually the game runs dry of content, and my character/s can’t really improve. I typically max out between 1-3 depending on the season.

Why do you think you (or players that play like you) should get to decide what the vast majority of people experience for months while you play for 30 hours in total and move onto something else

Srs ?

The “need for speed” addiction/damage that D3 did…

And that’s not the only issue here actually - by succumbing to “higher expectation of power and speed” always it also demands that the whole focus be kept on speeding up the game and adding another layer “on top” further instead of making better the whole thing

I bought the game, just like you.
I incur less server bandwidth costs than you do.

So, really. My business is preferable to yours. They make more profit.

That’s what people want, i’m sorry that gaming left you behind.

This is not true

Heck everything about this is so backward and wrong

They’re “modeling” the game for people that play it for 30 hours and leave ? :person_shrugging:

Apparently not, a very tiny minority with privileges wants this, otherwise we would just play and not be here all the time

not really no, if the server is more played the game is more promoted and therefore : more cosmetics paid and more game themselves bought.
once the server is paid to have a certain amount of players : whether a few hundreds leave early or not won’t change anything especially compared to cosmetics purchase

i join Vic1ous on that one, if you don’t want / enjoy leveling up then you are playing either the wrong genre (aarpg is all about leveling up and slowly grinding to get gears) or simply you should play eternal instead of seasonal if you despise starting to lv 1

just as an info : uber unique etc…aren’t mandatory, lv 100 itself isn’t mandatory
just play how many amount you feel like you want to and stop after that

i personally play rather casually yet i definitely don’t want the leveling up process or looting process to be faster otherwise i would leave even faster each season (example : despite playing very casually i’ve stopped playing this season 2 weeks ago because i already 100%ed it and i don’t care about uber unique)

You’re reaching and your logical flow is almost as bad as your English. I could very well buy hundreds of $ worth of cosmetics every time I log in.

That’s not how it works, they have to pay for bandwidth used, aka active connections.
If you don’t play, they don’t pay.

The direction of the game disagrees with you. The game director and others just loudly proclaimed repeatedly in the campfire chat, they want people to hit 100 faster than ever before.

Guess season 4 will be fast for you, because they upped the xp again.

HOTA is broken because the community wanted Barb to be OP. That is what the community asked for. The devs acknowledged and executed. Can’t blame the devs when they were looking to balance all classes before the uproar of season 1 hit.

  1. my message was about why do you even refer to HC when it doesn’t have anything to do with barb being OP : so your reply doesn’t have anything to do with it either.

  2. Some people (and not “the community”, don’t generalize it) asked for barb to be stronger than it was previously due to necromancer / sorcerer being way on top. but never asked for the barb specifically to be OP.
A balance is needed : as much as possible classes needs to be equal
