Gonna be great farming NM10 or cruising through mobs 5 lower than you in openworld (since 1.1 patch), giving 15% more exp (if 10 level above you instead of 25% for 3 more level).
Except it wasn’t too fast. It was still extremely slow even with the XP boost lmao. Hell it could have had an XP boost if anything.
Well in WT3 we at least have NM, it’s WT2->3 I am worried about, I mean, come on, everyone with two working braincells did capstone at lv 40. This is pointless level gate (and sorc chads at lv 35)
I’m fine with anything that prevents boosting and power leveling.
I got my rogue after the patch to WT3 at level 47.
Funny… I had a clan member run my lvl 24 Druid through the WT3 capstone and we had no issues. I was able to switch to WT3 immediately after and pick up the Helltide information/quest. I immediately turned it back down to WT2, as I’m definitely not geared or ready for 3 just yet.
I also ran another member just a bit ago through a NM dungeon and we got plenty of xp. Not as good as it was this morning, but acceptable for our levels compared to the mob levels. Sure… it’s not the D2 Baal rus we all remember and love, but it’s more in line, and lets players need to learn their classes a bit. SO many dead players at a World Boss because they don’t know how to play the character they had their friend power level. Then complain when nobody revives them.
the harm is that you maybe dont spend enough time in the game.
with this change you playing longer because you cant cut corners.
thats what they must thinking when they making these kind of changes. i bet the opposite happens. players going to leave.
This may be the worst of the worst changes. 60-70 was already a massive grind in WT3, so I’d do the capstone at 60. But it’s even worse now because the mobs are leveled below you with the new patch. So not only are we going to be forced to stay in WT3 until 70, but the mobs will grant even less xp. This means your ONLY option will be nm dungeons. Which is the most boring and tedious aspect of the game.Play your way.

What??? Lmfaoooooo I’m so glad I uninstalled this flaming pile of garbage today. Slugging in WT3 from 60-70 is going to be the most painful and boring snail fest ever. They legit killed any and all fun in this game in time for S1.
It wouldn’t matter, they nuked boosting from orbit. It’s not possible anymore even if he could.
Developer’s Note: We have observed that the experience bonus rewarded for killing higher level monsters escalates too fast when compared to the relative challenge involved. We still want to reward players for taking on this challenge by encouraging them to participate in powerleveling together instead of one player killing enemies while another member of their Party waits at the dungeon’s entrance.
We are adjusting bonus experience rewards for killing monsters that are a higher Level than the player.
Pre-Season of the Malignant bonuses:
1 Level higher: +15%.
2 Levels higher: +20%.
3+ Levels higher: +25%.
Post-Season of the Malignant:
1.5% bonus per Level up to 10 Levels.
Ex:
+1 level: +1.5%.
+2 levels: +3%.
+10 levels: +15%.
We are also adjusting experience rewards for monster Level offsets for higher World Tiers.
Current World Tier Level offsets
World Tier II: Up to +3.
World Tier III: Up to +10.
World Tier IV: Up to +100.
We are changing this to
World Tier II: Up to +3 (Unchanged).
World Tier III: Up to +6.
World Tier IV: Up to +10.
For Example:
You are Level 1. Your friends bring you to World Tier IV and leave you at the entrance of a dungeon. They start killing Level 100 monsters.
Prior to Season of the Malignant, you get:
(Level 100 Monster XP) * (1 + 25%)
After Season of the Malignant, you get:
(Level 11 Monster XP) * (1 + 15%)
This is a bad change, i rolled through the capstone dungeon to unlock world4 at 62 1shotted it. I dont want to be gated till 70. Change it back plz blizzard.
New character only maybe? Actual character, no requirement.
I just did the WT4 capstone dungeon 2 hours ago. I was level 62 when I started it, 63 when I completed it.
Dun worry, with the new nerf, you won’t be able to challenge higher lvl monsters. Thoughtful, aren’t they?
Welcome to greater rifts in D4, the most boring redundant time sink to ever grace a Diablo game. That end game is what made me quit D3, it was so bad.
As someone else has already pointed out in this thread, the level requirement for WT3 is level 40 and WT4 is level 60, not 50/70 like the OP mentions. For normal players this is not a real organic problem as most people won’t be running these earlier than 40/60 on their first playthrough of a season. It does ruin boosting and alts for sure though.
Wow, and they lowered xp gains by more than 20% for a +3. All I know is I am done buying Blizzard games. This was the last straw.
Has anyone tested this after the patch?
