If u use town portal and then go back threw it resets the enemies. Same as if you go into a cave and exit right away. Just like every other diablo. The open world and rando players does not take away from the experience. If youre not happy with what they are doing dont buy the game. P.S in Diablo 2 you would run into other players if playing online just like in this beta. Only difference is this one is only online.

“don’t buy the game”… this is so childish and disrespectful with a large number of fans requesting a feature that won’t change a bit the way you liked the game. Mmo for people who enjoy it, and Private Lobby for people who don’t. Diablo was the reason I became gamer since I was a kid and there’s many others that absolutely hate the mmo style. We just want a way to play the franchise as always was.

Excellent for you! So why are you here in this post about something players are discontent?

What’s the matter, you guys don’t have wallets or anything?

Absolutely 0 another player can do to your campaign. The only thing they can do with u without consent is the open world stuff which again has 0 to do with the story.oh and if u want to do the event solo just waith few minute it resets and u can do it solo. These open world events are there so when u walking arou d to do them for xp and dros.

I played all the diablo games and it seems to me like 4 could potentially be the best one. Being able to see players isn’t objectively a flaw about the quality of the game. it’s just a personal preference.

Im happy to hear some people understand this.

I would argue that it is a flaw seeing others in the open world who are not part of your party.

It takes away from you being the special hero/savior/main character of the story and if the beta was any inclination as to how full release is then we know its going to heavily be a story driven game.

Im fine with it in towns but it really ruins the over-world. They made the over-world a fixed map and not procedurally generated to accommodate this feature and that takes away from re-playability. That was always one of the selling points of classic diablo, every time you play its different.

Honestly, if they made an offline mode or a mode where just you and your friends can share the same world I would be fine but forcing such a drastic change and not highlighting that on the store page or in any of the trailers/ad’s really soured me to the idea overall.

While I really did enjoy the beta, I firmly believe that there should be an offline mode. If I want to play with others great, if I just want to play the game and tool around the world with my kids or by my self, let me. Especially for console. To me Diablo is a couch coop.
3 options:
Open to all
Open to invites only - my clan only etc.
Closed, just what is local

Thanks

Being able to make your own lobby seems to be the solution to this. Yes you have to have an internet connection to play but it makes Blizz comfortable re:cheating and it lets solo players enjoy the game by themselves. Everyone wins.

Was that the stated reason for online only? I assumed it was solely an anti-piracy thing. I could be mistaken but I thought anti-piracy was the reason given for Diablo 3 being online only, even in single player.

I’ve only ever played Diablo with my friends so ive never encountered cheating before. Maybe some light Gem duplication but nothing crazy like a sword that makes the screen explode in hell-fire or anything haha

I am a die hard Diablo fan and have been keeping up with it. I already knew about it being online only. It would be nice if there was an offline mode but im not going to complain about it. Only concern i have is that if the servers ever shut down then you will not be able to play it anymore unlike all its Predecessors. But oh well.:man_shrugging:

I see your point. The dungions and Caves are still Procedually Generated. But im ok with it. It was cool but the grinding for better cooler looking loot to get stronger was always the main selling point and appeal, for me at least.

Hubby and I literally saw none of the issues you all are griping about. It honestly sounds like some of you had your pre-determined version of Diablo you wanted to see and when it wasn’t like that, it disappointed you. Only issues I saw were some random disconnects, which were expected, and I was bugged a few times unable to leave dungeons. No one else playing ever had any effect on my gameplay.

Thats a major One, and it isnt far from the realm of possibility at all. I mean they literally shut down all WoW servers in China. A whole country, boom cant play wow anymore. Even if you put thousands of dollars into your accounts for pets mounts etc etc. they went bye bye.

The dungeons not being randomly generated is a separate issue. It could end up being a problem later in the game, although I’d argue we didn’t have a big enough sample in the beta to know for sure, and having to grind dungeons in the same area and without being able to progress to new areas or progress in the story isn’t an accurate representation of what the actual game will be like.

As for the issue I addressed (players in the world), I’m enjoying the story of diablo 4 more than the other diablo games’ stories so far, even though 1 and 2 had a good story, so if it were the case that that ruined the story I don’t understand how I’m enjoying it. I feel like the dungeons are a potential real issue but players in the world is still just a preference issue.
