Patch didnt fix it then 
Like many others, I am a playstation player who bought the Ultimate Edition and have been hit with the missing valid license error. I was able to get into the game at one point, however, so I believe my issue might be more specific. Hereās whats happened:
ā¢ I bought the game through playstation. The account has playstation plus active, and this is the account I am trying to play on
ā¢ My playstation account shares its games with another system, however, that other system/account is not trying to play the game, only the main one that purchased the game
ā¢ I was able to briefly get into the game, but this is where I think a unique issue to me occurred
ā¢ I realized that my playstation account had be connected to my incorrect battlenet account
ā¢ I then removed my connection from the incorrect battlenet account and connected it successfully to my correct battlenet account using the battlenet website on my computer
ā¢ In game, my battlenet account did not update, so I restarted the game with the hopes of refreshing it, only to be locked out for however many hours its been. A long time.
ā¢ None of the supposed āmiracleā fixes that random people online have suggested work for me
ā¢ The recent patch on Playstation did nothing for me either
ā¢ I was able to log in post-patch with my brotherās playstation account who does not own the game on playstation. His account could not open the game, but when I opened it with my account, and swapped to his profile, I was able to sign in as him. ( He bought the game on Xbox) but it still worked and I was able to play as his Xbox character, on my playstation, with his playstation account. Wild
I believe that my swapping of the connected battlenet account may have caused an issue that may fall between the cracks and I just want to make sure it gets some visibility among all the other issues people are having.

Maybe once the game has been linked to a battlenet account it can only be used with that account, So removing the PSN account from one battlenet and adding it to another the license is still being tied to the first battlenet, If that makes sense?
That does make sense, but Iām still stuck with no way to fix it unless blizzard addresses it. Canāt even swap back to the incorrect battlenet account since that has the 365 day cooldown for adding a connection once removed

Cāest une honte que depuis 1h du matin le probleme ne soit toujour pas regler.

This is my worst experience with a company that produces games. I buy games through one account (ps5 user) and play through another.
I have encountered a mistake. I waited for the release, played all the betas that were available. I stayed up until 2am to be among the first to get in. I canāt log in through my PS5 user, my wife canāt log in from her user, my child canāt log in either. This is nonsense.
On reddit they write that this way every user has to buy a license, are you out of your fuc##g mind?
I have to buy a license for every member of my family?
Thatās the worst thing Iāve ever experienced in my life.
I bought $100 worth of donations trying to get into my accountā¦ tried to get in until 7am. You guys are the worst in the world.

Yup. over 10 hours after launch, still cannot play. I managed to play a little couch co-op because my wife paid the āextra feeā by buying in-game purchases to get accessā¦ but Iāll be damned if Iām gonna succumb to that kind of thing lol.
I love how Blizzard are claiming a successful launch day across social media platforms - it really does sting that little bit more to see that.
Actually, you can play, but at the moment only from the PS account from which the game was purchased. Blizzard did not foresee the case where players buy on one account and play from another, most likely this will not be fixed this month.

I completely deleted and reinstalled the gameā¦also if you were in any betas delete those old launchers, they could be causing errors when installing
worked for me. But I think there is a better solution.
Go into PS+ Catalogue and add a game you have never added into your library from it. Force a āfree purchaseā from sony. Download said random game and try it out. You dont have to uninstall diablo or even close it. Maybe even the just adding into library is what works. Worth giving a try.
Iām hesitant in suggesting the silver coin trick because it involves real money but it worked for me and 2 other friends.

so dumb, but it worked. I started a download of one of the monthly games and then went straight to D4 and got right in.
Thatās the weirdest bug I have ever seen. It also explains why when people bought the $1.99 pack or any pack for that matter, they were able to start playing. Turned out there was a free way too.
