Game Crashing specifically after patch 1.0.3 (June 27th) (Addressed with Patch)

Those did not work for me…I ended up having to turn off the OC on my CPU and haven’t had a issue since.

after trying many things, I too dropped my FPS cap from 170 (monitor max is 165) down to 120 and i was stable for a while, BUT i was also actively not entering my inventory and game menus. I had my friend do all the dungeon setups and just TP to him.

The main issue i have found is using the menus that cause my crashing.

Tired to tweet at them, no response. I only made a twitter for this issue, so im not a blue check nerd. I started a support ticket and kept posting my crash codes everytime i had one. The ticket has at least 10 codes from my efforts lastnight and no response from the support team.

well, that’s what you get when the publishers pressure the developers to release an unfinished console port! Not even fixing gamebreaking things that existed since the beta like the Ice Shard hitbox bug.

Game shuts down to desktop with error message nothing more.

Same. Opened a ticket and received an auto-generated response that was not helpful. Followed all those instructions and same problem. Sometimes I can get 30 minutes of play before crash to the Fenris error screen. Usually it is much less than that.

It works! More than two hours without errors! Thx!

What works? What fix?

Same here. Crashes ever few minutes randomly without lag or something

The random 1995 troubleshooting blizzard recommends of course doesnt do anything.

Console port, funny should have been a pc port, diablo was birthed on pc heh…

Blizzard, the FENRIS error prevents thousands of players from continuing their experience in Diablo 4… This is not a problem on the users’ side but the fault of your last patch dated 06/27 which makes the game totally broken. I have been able to play so far without any bugs and your silence is incomprehensible. For a game purchased for 100 Euros, it’s absolutely shameful that you don’t communicate. Nothing, zero, nada. Users are looking on their own but it’s not overclocking or configuring their PC, it’s just your patch that’s totally messed up.
Thank you for having at least the kindness to keep us informed of the progress of the situation, it’s a minimum. Many players have stopped playing since this famous patch of 06/27. Can someone from Blizzard communicate with us, or will we continue to write in the wind? THANKS.

Hey guys. im playing for more than 4 hours now, no crash.
I changed my power plan to high performance(i forgot to change it cuz i got my pc formated this week) and lowered 100 mhz in my CPU OC.
Maybe is luck, but anyways…if some wild crash appears again, i will let you know.
GL!

It’s not just this latest patch, although it seems like the majority of people in this thread are of recent. I’ve been having this same issue since Father’s Day weekend basically. I’ve sent them a ticket with over 80 error reports and only received a canned response in 2+ days. My total errors are probably well over 200 at this point, but I’ve barely even tried to play these last few days because it’s such a pain to deal with. No issues during any of the betas and played up until ~ 17th without a single crash…then it started happening after one of their server maint. / hotfixes.

I’ve done everything listed in multiple threads and nothing has fixed it. The problem comes and goes where I can play for a bit some days, but once I crash or exit the game, it goes back to luck of the draw if it does the instant crash as character renders into the world, I talk to a vendor, open my inventory, or try to run a few steps.

My error logs look just like all the other ones I’ve seen posted on the forums. It’s crazy that nothing has been done to address this, but maybe with all the recent people having the same issue they’ll at least make an effort. We’ll see…

This is pretty much useless information as it seems random what works and doesn’t work for people, but here goes.

What stopped the crashing for me after the 27th June update was turning off DLSS. I had it on “Quality” previously. I’m playing on a 4K 120hz TV, but it seems like the 3080 is beefy enough to run the game in 4k native, high settings and locked to 60 fps with a lot of headroom to spare.

I had 1 crash in 150 hours prior to the last patch and every 5 minutes after.

Specs:
8700k @ 5ghz
Asus Strix 3080
4000mhz DDR3 CL16
Windows 10 Build 21H2

I’m running a old Geforce driver 522.25

Right there with you @Pest. I haven’t been able to play more that about 7 minutes since Hotfix 10 on June 15th.

I too played Beta/Server slam, Early Access up to when the Hotfix’s messed things up. Yes I had the normal rubber banding, stuttering and lag, with the very rare crash to character select, but now the game is completely unplayable as I usually crash at the latest on Character select. I also was originally playing on a medium high setting, running at about 180FPS. Now I am on the lowest settings, everything that I can turn off is off, set at 60FPS. No help at all.

Even with that, if there was the tiniest bit of communication, and acknowledgement of the issue, I would not be so salty, but as it is, their nonchalant attitude really sucks.

Last night I have found a fix that worked for me. I have a 9700k and was over clocking to 4.9ghz at 1.22v. the voltage could have been too low but haven’t had too many issues in the past so I digress. I returned my overclock settings to default, turned Nvidia low latency off, and distortion off. I am using a RTX 3080ti. Watching my VRAM after this fix, it was hovering between 10GB-11GB. Played for 2 hours last night without any issues. Hope this info may help some of you.

I running at Ultra, 1440p, 144 fps.

Its a memory leak of some sort, just state your having a issue there is no fix, they need to patch the game

Guys, this is not from our PCs or setups. Update your controller firmware if you play controller… Reduce your OC… Change some settings in windows or Nvidia control panel… This is just pixie powder, based solutions on nothing. The ONE and ONLY problem is their patch dated JUNE 27th, and apparently before for some but mostly since the 27th…
We just need a Blizzard patch to fix it. Can’t the NVIDIA teams come and answer us and help BLIZZARD in the absence of answers from them?
I can play Elden Ring or Forza Horizon 5 for hours without bugs, I run Diablo 4 and BAM, “FENRIS” erros after 5 minutes.
The problem is not with us. Cordially,

Rubberbanding was one thing I was able to push to the side but this constant crash after patch is game breaking.

Crashing anywhere from 5mins to 20 mins in the game. Zero crashes before patch.
