No changes with the new patch unfortunately.
Still 4 FPS on loading screen, character selection screen and in game alike.
Still can’t get past the first map.
Fenrir log still shows the game polling my audio devices 20+ times a second.
if only it was linked to the queue issues everyone was having it would have been fixed by now. not majority not priority
To be fair, the que issue is probably caused by one thing. There’s [probably a bunch of different causes for this issue so it’s going to be more complex to solve.
oh i completely agree, im just saying with how fast they fixed the queue issue BECUASE it affected so many people.
Hello. Had this problem, just FPS drop by 10-20 FPS every ~5s for 0.5s. I applied severals things at once so idk what solved it but I don’t have it anymore :
- Start D4 in Administator mode
- Clean registry and disk (with CCleaner)
- Stopped a program I saw in my task manager called “vmmem” who took a large portion of my ram
I still have some FPS drop but it’s seems like “normal” ones now, every now and then
Hopes it can help
This is ridiculous! I literally cannot play and just yesterday I had no issues. Has Blizzard even responded on any of these threads? I’ve tried every single fix to no avail. My PC more than meets the requirements with a 3080TI. How do I go about requesting a refund?
not one word yet sadly. Open ticket since day one not even responded to yet.
I could fix my 4 FPS problem with blocking the UDP Rule in the firewall and only allowing TCP.
I am not sure why it works but for me it decreases the audio polling
I have a same problem, huge FPS drops to ~4 FPS every few seconds.
Tried all the fixes but nothing helped.
Strangely going to “Hybrid graphics” mode in Lenovo Vintage removed the FPS drops for 30 minutes, but this might be just a coincidence.
Specs:
Lenovo Legion 5
RTX 3070
Ryzen 7 5800H
32 GB RAM
NVME SSD
UPDATE: I could fix the issue by disabling all input/output sound devices in Windows sound settings. No more FPS drops but no more sound too
Hi same problem here with a config who shouldn’t be a problem normaly.
Ryzen 5600X
32GO ram
RTX 3060TI.
I tried everything here, but i only notice some improvement when i close the Blizzard luncher, and also i put the software “wallpaper engine” runing behind in “pause”.
For now it’s a bit better.
same here 3FPS permanent WTH

Could you advise which protocol you had blocked?
Same here, could play very good on Friday morning(EU), smooth to lvl 30+ and in the afternoon unplayable…
Did everything the was posted before, including re-install, new(older) graphic card driver, nothing.
One of the things was to turn of the power of the router (Fritzbox 6591), helped nothing…
1 hour ago I connected my Fritz- Repeater directly to the PC(Alienware), therefor I had to put it into antoher power outlet. I turned of WLAN and use the wired connection to the Repeater now, so stil kind of WLAN…
I had little hope that this could help, but since then Diablo 4 runs absolutely stable and fast. I’m not sure if it was the restart of the fritz repeater, or the direct connection to the box.
Maybe someone with a repeater could try this?
In the Windows firewall → Incoming rules.
There should be two Diablo IV Retails rules (name could be little different).
If you double click them then one has the protocoll type UDP and one the type TCP.
Right click the UDP Rule and disable it.
Can you please clarify what you mean by disable the UDP rule?
Do you mean disable the rule that allows UDP or simply to enable the rule but change it to blocking UDP?
EDIT: I’ve disabled all the UDP rules (both enabling and blocking) and my game is seemingly completedly FIXED!!! I hope this works for other people as well.
I’m having huge frame drops (110+ down to 40’s) randomly and a lot of little stutters. Running a 3080ti and even with DLSS on it makes no difference.
Your ram is overheating.
This 100% solved my problem. Game would be 140FPS one moment, and then crawl to 15-20 FPS for a couple seconds, then back to 140. Now it’s silky smooth. You’re the person!
My issue came back but then I delved into Event Viewer and saw that one of my bluetooth adapters decided to keep randomly disconnecting itself. Unplugged it and all is good. I used FullEventLogView (can’t link it but it’s the one on the NirSoft website) to see all the events instead of trying to dig down into where I needed to go. I just lined up the logs in the FenrisDebug log with any events that have to do with devices.
Yeah, there’s something wrong with the way the game is polling audio devices and a lot of the various fixes deal with blocking that. That doesn’t seem to be the only issue, but it’s a big one. Nearly everyone I’ve seen posts from with this stutter issue shows constant audio device polling in their log.
I really wish that we’d get some confirmation that Blizzard is paying attention to this thread and that the dev team is looking into it.
