A few things I experienced that I wanted to raise (unsure if this is the result of it being beta or not):

  • Intermittent stuttering beyond the introductory questline. Basically as soon as I reached Kyovashad, I’d start getting hit with random and intermittent stuttering in the game. The only repeatable occurrence of this was when I faced a dungeon boss (can’t remember the dungeon name, but the boss was a spirit freed by placing two cubes on pedestals). During that fight, every time I evaded, it would stutter. Obviously stutter in a game like this can be quite lethal to your character.
  • Inability to track more than one quest at a time. Not much more to add to this; it would be nice to be able to track more than a single quest at once. Related to this, it feels clunky that picking up a new quest doesn’t automatically add it to the quest tracker.
  • Hubs without a vendor. Places like Nevesk(sp?) which only had a blacksmith leave me without a place to sell things. Clearly I can just waypoint to Kyovashad or elsewhere so this isn’t a huge issue by any means. I also might not care in the live game, when I probably will salvage gear more often than sell it.
  • Can’t sell items to Blacksmiths. This is obviously tied up with the previous point. And like the previous point, I might not care about this in the live game for the same reasons.
  • Leave Dungeon is in a weird place. Minor quibble for sure, but it’s counter-intuitive to me to look in your emote interface to find the option to teleport to the entrance of a dungeon.
  • Dialog skipping delay. It felt weird to me that you had to hit esc once to sort of initiate the process of skipping dialog and then hit it a couple more times for it to basically accept the request to skip the dialog.
  • Invisible character. This happened to me twice, both times lasting for only a few seconds. I think both occurred right after character death and I immediately raced back into combat upon respawn.
  • Pressing W a second time doesn’t close the renown screen. Not much to add. Basically had to escape out of it but expected a second press to toggle it, much like other hotkeys for other screens behave.
  • No button to return to character screen from the profile edit screen. Or I simply didn’t find it/it’s there but not intuitive.

I think that’s about it. Will add to this if other things come to mind.

Overall it was very enjoyable and I’m looking forward to the official launch! This game gives off strong D2 vibes, which is great imo. It loosely felt like an evolution of D2 with Wolcen style boss fights and the open world aspects of Lost Ark. Good stuff.
