Diablo IV: Into the Endgame!

Maybe, Maybe not

The biggest element i hated from D3, is everyone wanted the same pieces

It really feels we’ll want different things in D4

I think I like the idea of earning sigils to apply mutators to dungeons adding a twist to each one. Lets me pick my poison.

So thats where they got their druid Model from.

i thought about that but held it in :stuck_out_tongue:

im honestly trying to be optimistic at this point. it seriously looks lacking though. Pvp might be fun and “new” but thats about it.

greater rifts were renamed, bounties renamed( ihavent met one play that loves bounties), Fields of hatred is just like terrorized zones in d2, the blood shards you collect in pvp remind me of wow hallaa zone. truly doesnt seem like theres much to look forward to that is new. same recycled stuff thrown back in our faces and we will gobble it up XD sad really.

True but even with mutators to the dungeon, you will still know where to go in the dungeon to complete it as layouts are not extremely different from one another in any given dungeon. Having sprawling and a variety of layouts for each dungeon will keep players guessing on where to go to finish the dungeon. Repeating layouts will create predictability and make running the same dungeon over and over boring. No matter how many mutators you put on it.

You could always request a refund and go play something else.

Given that I’ll probably run dungeons hundreds if not thousands of times, they’d be hard pressed to find a modular pattern that even my feeble memory I wouldn’t catch onto anyways.

Heck, I can play beat saber by shutting off my brain and let my muscle memory react to patterns I’ve encountered countless times – D4 will be no different.

Thats exactly what i did, YOU SPYIN ON ME BRO?

Yeah but the issue comes from how fast you catch on to the patterns of the dungeons. If you catch on to the patterns within the first month, that is bad considering Diablo endgame has traditionally been all about running dungeons, smashing enemies, and collecting loot.

If they increased the variety of the layouts for each dungeon, you may not catch on to the patterns until 6 months to a year down the road. That is better for keeping the same dungeons fresher longer.

Diablo 3 had this problem initially and they fixed it later by a patch where they added more dungeon variety and possible layouts into the existing mix. There is some predictability in D3 dungeon layouts but even when you think you know where to go, it winds up a dead end or connects to another section that throws you off.

i get it but they couldve pushed it a bit further imo.

these “modular patterns” often repeat in the very same dungeon run, sometimes VERY close to each other… feels like a bad joke when it happens.

It only takes like two passes to recognize a repeated segment. Afterwards you kind of just know where the entrances and exits are to that segment. The only way they could make it better is if an AI were designing rooms on the fly when you entered, which is not performant or sustainable.

+5 stat +50 armor, so revolutionary! Generic damage increase!

We already have full information on how the 4 attributes work.

A Strength Sorc wont be as viable as an Int sorc in this system. You wont come to another conclusion at lvl 50, 70 or 100.

I am not saying I am always correct about everything (well…). But about this, yes, I am correct, since it is factually how the attributes are designed.

To be fair, seems likely D2 got their inspiration from D4 Helltides, and not the other way around.

Good choice! If it was a choice

thats awesome, i hope you have a great time! Diablo is fun, lets hope they improve it over time like they said they will.

Was not a choice. I was too broke back then to buy the game. =))

As long as the foundation to add more room variety is there (which it is), that’s what matters at this point. They can add more with time to dilute it.

Yes D3 dungeons are just mashed together section squares assembled in a variety of patterns. Everyone that has played D3 dungeons for any substantial period of time will recognize the squares. That said, that system of random dungeon configuration has given longevity to a once boring dungeon system. This point can’t be denied.

I was mostly insinuating about the total package game wise. I’m sorry I did not make that clear.
