just what the title says. i been playing since voh release no real issues, some crashes here and there, until the latest patch… now everytime i try to play i cant even load the game it crashes and sends that error
I have the same problem that started out of nowhere.
Can’t find the solution author again to give semi-credit (it only temporarily works but I still try to always give full credit).
To at least GET INTO THE GAME and play:
DELETE from main D4 folder:
dstorage.dll
dstoragecore.dll
The problem is (that I JUST discovered and why I’m back here) once you close the game and come back to play, apparently the launcher scans and re-downloads what it “thinks” are missing files and puts them back in place.
Sure, you can go back and delete them again, but as it stands, that means EVERY TIME you want to play, you have to go in and delete those files!
Better put a link to your d4 folder on your desktop…
There is an easier way. Disable the Direct Storage using the battlenet.
Open the launcher. Click the gear cog next to the play button. Game settings. The look for additional command line arguments, click the check box to enable it.
In the box put this:
-disableds
Save, and Boom, no more deleting files to fix that problem.
AHHH! Perfect! This is what I was looking for! Ironically, I created a solution thread (and I’m going to create a new one new, will give you full credit) that involved this file and one of the posters talked about what the file actually was used for…
I was just searching out a way to “disable” it from being seen or activating, whatever… Your switch basically!
TYSM
They STILL need to fix the damn problem, but this is a huge help.
Here’s the OLD thread if anyone’s curious. This has been a problem for a while.
Since the game launched. Ironically, it has never caused me a problem.
LOL! I just realized it was you in the original thread that pointed out what it did that I was trying too look up… good grief…
