Why allow game sharing during a closed beta but not on release like wtf

Same deal for me. The Ultimate edition was actually gifted to me but we ordered it under my husband’s profile because he is the one with the GamePass subscription etc. I was able to play early beta weekend with no issue so I assumed I was good to go as long as I play on the “home” console (we have 2 Xboxes). Took tomorrow off for a long launch weekend. Nope, husband is enjoying the launch while I am locked out. Some info on whether this was intended or not would be much appreciated please so I can decide whether to just go to work tomorrow. I am pretty sure it is against the Microsoft TOS anyway. I am not buying a second game so I can play sitting next to my husband.

This is a big problem to me. They haven’t even bothered to address it. Not a word. Just say if it’s supposed to be like this , or a bug they are working on already. Take a minute to respond

Found an accidental work around. If the purchaser returns their copy (as long as they have signed in and played a minute), then second gamesharer buys a copy, it works. We have been fully refunded for one, only one paid copy, and we both can play.

Well there now is a post that officially says only the person who purchased the game gets early access and other players have to use couch co-op to get into the game. Sounds like after 6/6 we will be able to play on our own but not until then.
But couch co-op hasnt worked for others
It’s official that we can’t gameshare the early access now, which is objectively just greedy. I now can’t play with my brother unless we use couch co-op which is just super inconvenient. Do better, blizzard.

Agreed. Plus my husband is already halfway through Act 1 and I have not even logged in. Now he gets to drag my lame butt around. Good thing I played Act 1 about 5 times already or I would be pretty mad about missing half of it.
I just transferred licences back to my main Xbox and it still won’t work.
I bought two copies and can’t play with my wife because PC and PS5 is both associated to my Battle.net account lmao. Did I just throw money into the void?

Yes lol. Get a refund on one and repurchase under your wife’s BNet. Or just get a refund.

Lol, Blizzard is ridiculous on this one. I’m worried I won’t be able to get the refund from Playstation.
That is implied but not explicitly stated. If this was literally any other company I would say yes but……
Also it is against Microsoft TOS to not allow game sharing so on XBox it better be.

Do you mind telling me how you got a refund? I am on PS5 and I can’t figure out how to get a refund. At this point I just want my money back I genuinely don’t even want to play the game anymore

PSA for everyone else annoyed about the lack of early access on game share, I just got my refund from Microsoft within 2 mins, If Blizzards gonna pull a shifty like this let them know how we feel.
Im going to save my $50 and buy the standard edition next week.

Thanks for ruining launch for me and my friends Blizzard. At this point the only thing you guys can be counted on for is letting people down. Nobody should be surprised. Working hard for that “Worst Company in America” crown.
