D4 feels bad man

I was just having this conversation with a friend about how bad the loot is.

I’m astounded that Green armour sets with set bonuses haven’t been included. They were in both Diablo 2 and 3 and were a major chase. You wanted those items for the set bonuses.

Diablo without the set items is like World of Warcraft with Tier sets. You know, Wow, who removed tier sets from the game, the playerbase got angry and then they reintroduced them again.

My major problems with the boring loot in this game is the transition from Torment 3 to Torment 4. At the end of Torment 3, I had a great set of gear. I had a bunch of legedaries and uniques that worked together. BAM - reach Torment 4 and I realised I’d have to grind all my whole set again. Exactly the same items, except this time they would have ‘Ancestral’ instead of ‘Sacred’.

That’s when I noped out.

If I could play the game around evening time PST that would be great. Otherwise the banding and server lag makes it unplayable. It’s the only time I can play. Works got my number. This is wack lol

could not agree more

I’m SoCal, It ain’t no better on this Patch O’Green either.

you are correct in your assessment

“…This is an ACTION RPG with slow paced action.

It’s a LOOT hunter with boring loot.

This is an MMO with no social aspects.

A dungeon crawler that feels more like a game of fetch the stones and put them on the pedestals. “

ShiIIIIIII… someone actually went back to the “Dungeon Crawler” acronym. You get a Participation Cheers my friend. Gawd Dang!

People dont play ARPGs to do puzzles, they play them to explode screens of mobs.

As the only one with a spine in my Diablo 3 social group that didn’t play Season 1 and was vocally critical about Diablo 4 patch 1.1… Said group disbanded and they decided playing a mediocre game they paid money for was more important than friends.

I wouldn’t change a thing and still won’t make a seasonal character though, hopefully more people with spines will refrain from playing this mess until all our QoL complaints are addressed.

The most upsetting thing IMO is that they are going to push D3 into end-of-life and force the players into this game.

It’s a game that has less basic features than D3. A proper sequel should build off the foundation set by prior games. The devs should learn from the good and the bad. It seems like D4 is like their first go-around at creating a game… in the 1980s.

Double enm mob spawns (locations, not timely) in open world and dungeons. Tripple them in helltide. Quadruple them in NM dungeons. For this, tone down the amount of CC enms a bit. Will solve many issues.

dev a game takes a lot of time, I’m already at 7 years of dev on my side !
and 2 burnout

Hello,

It’s so well written, i’ll just add a few comments.
Actually, the game is ‘only’ a empty packaging.
Visually, it’s ok.
The potential is here , but the games lacks so many things :

  • 1 roguelite dungeon par region is needed (instances of 10+ ppl)
  • Events need more phases (growing events?)
  • Meta events on map are needed (add depth to helltides)
example : if a serie of events is finished on a helltide map, a portal to abyss / inferno or whatever evil dimension is opened. Peoples then go in, an try to reach some very hard objective. Maybe some sort of woldboss to fight back (bosses from the storyline) ?
  • 5 ultra classics classes (except druid from D2, maybe), it’s a lame choice , especially for a #4 iteration of the franchise. No risk, no innovation, zero originality.
  • Add a subterreanean global maps, FFS ! Underwold is the key in every med-fan games/story/litteratur (sewer, necropolis, tunnels, grottos, abandonned mines, ruins, geological artefact, undercity, subterranean rivers, giant erthworm tunnels, etc … all connected. Add a lot of potential in terms of quest, event, meta quest / event, etc … The opposite of the 'diablo theme-park we got)
  • Reskin of D3 random tiles for dungeons is ultra lame too.

Maybe in 1 or 2 years, the game will reach a launch state. But at wich price ? 2 or 3 overpriced xpac …

I really hope the devs see this.

You know what? I think that rocks! People seem to forget that entertainment is subjective. You can like a game that your friend does not like and you would both be right.

The game is brilliant and the first in the entire genre to punish players for advancing.

Great? rly? roflmao!

Same for me. I wanna play and enjoy. But I always got bored in 30 mins max. And go play other games. I really tried, but D4 is not for me I think. Back to D2R

Who? Mostly you and haters like you. 90% from all the threads in here are a big toxic wall of text.

Maybe this time, OP actually isn’t toxic, but like I said, in most cases they are.

Agreed. I keep hearing the word metric being used by the devs. It has turned into one of the most feared words because anytime they use it, they justify destroying skill X or build Y because too many players are using it. There is no attempt at balance, only destruction. I don’t have time to regear, respec, every couple of weeks. The game is turning into a chore. If you put a skill into the game and then a month later go nuclear on it because too many players are using it, then look at why the other skills aren’t being used. Its not all about damage. Maybe its the flow and tempo, the fun, something your metrics don’t tell you. I find the current approach to balance unprofessional.
