Blurry/Low res textures

I don’t think it is VRAM, i have this issue with an RX 6800XT with 16GB, and i have pretty stable FPS at 1440p, around 140, yet there are still textures that just wont load correctly. And they wont load if i stand there looking at it, i can watch a statue and it stays low-res. Usually, if it is a VRAM issue, the textures would load within a few seconds.
I assume it is either actually missing high res textures, or errors in the engine, like loading the low-res instead of the high res textures for specific or random objects.

Turn Sharpen Image up to about 25, Turn Nvidia DLSS off, and slide Resolution Percentage up to 150 (this worked for me, no more blurry images during camera movement in cutscenes).

Lord , level 50+ and still have this issue hahaha I think this is the real enemy of this game and not Lilith

Having the same issue, I play side by side with my husband, we both have the game setup to “High” graphics and he sees everything perfectly fine. For me, random textures are very low quality, like the blue DLC Wizard pants and chest are always in “blurry” mode for me while the gloves and boots are not. It’s weird but it’s the same textures every time everyday that are stuck in low texture mode.

GPU: GTX 1060 6Gb
CPU: Intel i5-10600K
RAM: 8Gb
OS: Win10
V-sync: On (60FPS)
Graphics: Set to High

Just installed the new Nvidia patch, and game broke again, i went back to previous patch and still broken and the menu thing is not working anymore… wtf is happening with this game, this totally ruins the experience

some of that is their interpretation of “well worn” it looks like.

i see perfectly defined bricks forming the dungeon ground and then a patch of low res nasty bricks. it feels like its trying to make it look like the stones are flattenedout/smoothed over time but it just looks bad.

sometimes on doors too. a lot of those big stone doors have low rez textures which i assume is just to make it easier to animate? idk.

anyways im not sure if thats what youre referencing but a bunch of “low-rez-looking-textures” seem to be intentionally that way. i don’t think it looks great either. there are surely ways to give off “well-worn” without making it look low-rez.

the Kyovashad waypoint is that way too. well defined around it, but low rez mushy in the middle. probably to represent how worn that thing is. doesnt look great.

Make sure you guys dont have any version of the DLSS on. That could make some textures low res in order to keep the FPS up.

Same problem here. It’s a shame really :frowning:

UPDATE: Just bought another 8GB RAM Stick and boom, ultra settings available for me and the game looks amazing now, it’s ridiculous how the textures affects the game appearance at all.

I have 32GB ram and textures are blurry, so ram isn’t the reason.

RAM is not the problem, it seems the game its not responding when u change from medium to ultra settings, its always on low

Exactly the same issue for me. Texture detail is all mushed. I can’t even see any wood grains on my shield, skull helm has no teeth, mail armor has no chain textures. Same thing to ground texture. Everythings on high setting. Almost as if game hasn’t fully loaded the details. 3050ti. I know the game isn’t supposed to look like that because it looks amazing with all the details on my other computer with 4070. I heard its the vram issue but why doesn’t the game automatically set the game at med to low setting with all the details vs. high setting with zero details? I think its a bug that Blizz need to fix.

Just wanted to say that I am having this same issue. I have tried every possible setting from low - ultra, Nvidia graphics settings on/off. Re-install and repair, install high res textures and not. This is 100% a bug in the game code. Can we at least get a blue post so we know that this will be fixed? makes necromancer unplayable. Below is a link to a reddit post with pictures.

Gonna bump this thread because I have the same issue and it needs fixing. After scrolling through, I tried a couple of things - actually going far to the bottom of the graphic settings and enabling the last box fixed the issues on my character (also in character selection screen) and he looks all pretty and SUPER high res now however when I log in, this man (and I can literally count the strands of hair on his head) is standing right next to a low-res blood golem. And honestly it destroys the atmosphere and is not okay.

For some reason I also can’t access higher graphic settings than “medium” but I can put everything on “High” or “Ultra” by hand. Weird though.

Need more system RAM or more VRAM

Actually can turn on Ultra now but look how weird my Golem looks like next to my character ib b. co/pJPRP4T

it’s the same issue as someone else before me posted, even skipping through the different settings doesn’t even change anything at all

Yes, it is, i just did the RAM upgrade and the game looks completely different changing from medium to ultra. The settings now even says that Ultra requires 32GB of RAM to play on 4k.

Relevant and interesting video for anyone interested. Although VRAM might not be the only problem, it’s clearly still a big concern.

I don’t care if I can’t run it on ultra-ultra-ultra or whatever, I can live with playing on lower settings but I don’t think that’s the issue, it doesn’t look coherent, how can parts of the game look like ultra res and other parts of the game have 5 pixel

Indeed, it’s clearly a bug and issue in the code of the game but blizzard still not patching this ! I mean, in the the développer team they all play certainly the game on the pc, even if only 50 of them play it on pc, it’s obligatory one of theme have the issue and can report ! We are not a rare minority playing with this issue. And this problem touch every profile of pc build (strong medium or low).

Sorry for my English it’s not my native language hehe
