Exactly. From all videos I saw, all went with hybrid builds. Whoever chose to be a pure werebear, as I did for these 2 and half days, I had a hard time with single dmg, surviving against the butcher, oh boy, and in general doing the beta content. I switched to pure werewolf and I enjoyed more, tho didn’t encountered the butcher to see how werewolf performs but at least I would manage to do some dmg instead of die from 3 hits as a pure werebear.
Don’t be mistaken, Druid caster, esp tornado and werewolf, is ok and maybe more than just ok. But me personally speaking about a pure werebear build cause I always liked it in Diablo 2 and in every game it has Druid shape shifter.
I’m referring to the idea it’s a copy paste with no true class flavor. I would think something more akin to a Warwick ultimate would be more fitting. Being able to suppress a mob with rapid attacks after you leap on it and knock it down. Either with clawing animations or biting animations where you are chomping the mobs neck.
Or you summon a pack of wolves to chomp down on it with you for a feeding frenzy (non summons)
I think fortify is just a bad stat at the level of the game that we’re playing now. I’m sure it gets much better later on.

Well at 25 with bear build and pulverize Lego you could kinda sorta take advantage of the earth passives as you retained a certain amount of fortify. I’m hoping the paragon tree really brings the character online as well as class quest buff. Others it’s gonna be a rough ride as bear Druid lol
I think pure werebear is problematic because the only core werebear spender (pulverize) isn’t designed to be spammed.
It really wants to be paired with another core spender, and then you only use pulverize when its overpower will proc.

I didn’t play Druid, but I’ve definitely seen the videos of people comparing clear times. I personally like seeing us not just kill a boss or large demon in 12 seconds and think that all classes should be brought in line to scale with the epic feel of an encounter.
There may be valid complaints that I’m unaware of with the finesse of class balance, but I think it’s not that certain classes need to be buffed to output or play like a Necromancer, but rather the Necromancer be reigned in.

I played a landslide druid and it was okay. The problem is okay is still at the bottom of the list. One thing I didn’t like with the druid, especially the werebear and some abilities, there is this “delay” before you use them. Did anyone else notice that? You could click on an ability and nothing would happen. There might be a hidden global cooldown? I didn’t see anything like that on the other classes but I might have missed it.
Well, sadly we don’t know about the game later on so our feedback is purely about beta and yeah werebear is focused on fortify which is a bad stat so far.
Well I am ok with non spammable Pulverize because otherwise it would be kinda OP to keep spamming a resource spender skill, but werebear has nothing to stand, seeing rogue or sorc with more Armor and HP than a Bear feels totally stupid. I mean I would be ok to be more tank than a dps as a bear cause is a bear after all, but atm it has neither dmg or tankiness.
Was REALLY hyped for Druid, my most favorite archetype in Diablo after the Paladin but after playing the beta I just cannot justify it for myself to start as Druid instead of Necro.
Necro “outplayed” my Druid with build enabling uniques by far with just crap gear.
Blood explosion (or whatever the skill is called) simply clears trash with one button whereas druid has to use Landslide 2-4 times due to limited aoe coverage.
Corpse Explosion is a resource FREE Skill lmao. I can use Pulverize like 2 times before I am out of resource on Druid.
Horrendous leveling experience doesn’t make up for a “maybe good Endgame build after I find 3 specific Legendaries” imo.
Resource costs need to be looked at again for Druid, it’s the main problem imo.

Yeah I’m hoping they add in something decrease the time it takes for over power or drop the cost and the dmg stacks on repeated casts… some thing…. Anything lol.
I was looking to add in ravens later in the build for vulnerable effect or hurricane, but still like you said our only kill move is pulverize, also the knock back on trample is less than reliable even in tight dungeons to get the stun or collision dmg.
I just wanna play a big dumb bear and smash stuff is that too much to ask blizzard. I don’t want it to be a zdps spec.

I don’t think there being a condition to cast pulverize 3-5 times would be problematic…have you seen whirlwind or corpse explosion by comparison lol
Yeah, I had a build where you’d just basic attack and pulverise, but spam it mostly during vul window and use wolves there too.
But I was unable to get some of the good imprints to drop either… so hard to say how it would’ve all looked together. But for normal clearing… it was more than spammy.
I think druid does need some love though, we’ll see what they do leading up… maybe we get a deep dive on it.
I’ve also enjoyed the druid, I’m hope they will still support the Pulverize overpower talent at launch because its a lot of fun to just wipe a room with one big bonk.
We talked about a spammable skill, 3-5 uses isn’t spammable plus I already use it 3 times in row.
Definitely a lot more visually interesting than the werewolf’s comparably feeble moves.
BONK!
I found werebear to be very dependent on tempo, if I was moving from fight to fight steadily in order to maintain Fortify it felt somewhat smoother, but I still found that the 10% damage reduction from the Fortified state was not impactful, the cooldown on skills such as Debilitating Roar and Trample felt very long, and combined with relatively slow Spirit generation left subjectively long stretches with nothing to do but Maul.
The occasional big Overpower Pulverize aside, this left playing the druid feeling both weak, and boring; it felt like I had traded damage for survivability, and ended up with neither.

I’m hoping the spirit boons bring the druid all it was missing.
im not paroting any idiot streamer/yotuber/influencer
but if the damage percenages are low,
they will eventually raise it
me too played good old rabbies druid
full werewolf full poision
got blast
I greatly enjoyed a Nature Caster build that mixed Earth and Storm. I will definitely level and main Druid on release. There are a couple of other builds I want to try on Druid. I played Sorceress as well.
