Am I tripping, or do characters look too genderneutral?

They’re body types, not genders, so yes. That’s intentional. And personally I found them to be perfectly dialed feminine and masculine to allow for the general spectrum to find something appealing.

Priest of Nevesk deserved it. The townsfolk did nothing wrong.

One would expect from an AAA title for 70+ euro to have more character creation options.

Not one body type, but at least 5, ideally sliders to make your own body type.
Same for face. Not 4 different, 20. Or some customizations.
I don’t need 36 nose piercings. I want 36 hairstyles.

There are games that 20 years ago gave you these options.
Why cant D4?

All character assets in the game should be shared among all characters.
Let me have my D-cup necro or powerlifting female druid like barb looks like.
Why not?

Integrated HD fully animated characters in cutscenes, that’s why not.

They said in one video that the engine takes your character and puts it into the cutscene. The way you created it.
Cutscenes have nothing to do with it.

Normally, my wife doesn’t play games, but she had played D2 many years ago, where we didn’t know each other. Now she wanted to play d4 with me, the first thing she asked me when creating an sorc, where can she change breast size apart from the face the body looks like a man. I had to laugh first. And i told her in games they don’t stick to science anymore that is called now Body types. Then she looked at me like I was crazy.

From what I gathered, RTCs pull from the library of all known customization options. Sliders would, presumably, break them. I want more RTCs. RTCs are, according to quotes, very new tech at least for Blizz as they implied they had to make their own engine for it. The ‘engine’ isn’t a magic button and saying ‘the engine’ is not a counter-argument. lol

Diablo isn’t The Sims. This is a lot of customization and variation for the series. Sucks that you don’t like it and it isn’t everything enough for you.

If they pull form the library of all known customization options, then they can allow all customization options among all classes.
Shouldnt break anything.
Or create 2-3 more bodies for each class and for male and female types.

I agree with the face customization as well, there’s literally just a couple good ones for each character out of what 10 or more choices

Definitely tripping, if you can’t see the difference, you are the one making the problem.

Did you notice that the male rogue had the same feminine animations (like running) like the female rogue?! I did and it looked horrible.

Maybe he’s just going through his transition phase.

the males are very male

the females are…well…were not sure

All i know is, they all look like they need a shower but it fits the theme me thinks

All the male characters look like they have child bearing hips in isometric view.

After what they did to Amazon in D2R I was expecting a lot worse

That first hairstyle needs to be available again…to everyone, even male necros (with small differences, like how the female barb has a braid in otherwise identical hair from diff classes).

I honestly did not, and I was even playing with my girlfriend who also rolled a Rogue.

That screams top tier lazy, or top tier agenda.

First the poor female Necros got put under the scalpel, and now the male Rogues… What is gaming coming to?

Are you kidding, or do you really get bent out of shape about nothing? Is this chronic?

I shall give you a like for being the only one to respond to this joke sidenote. But then took it back because your first paragraph talks about the human body as if it were some kind of spectrum, which is ridiculous.

His only crime was to scold the townsfolk for drinking alcohol. That’s hardly a reason to lop off his head and then put him on display in some basement of a ruin.

It’s hardly “Nothing” when you see games in the west trending more towards blurring the lines between male and female in order to appeal to a demographic that doesn’t even play games, even if they managed to afford playing them.

I mean, it’s not hard to notice, unless you’re purposefully ignoring it.

I was happy to for once not have oversexed female characters, which to me as a girl is often a cause for eye rolling. I’m not sure, if this is what you were criticizing, tho, so that’s just something in this context that came to mind.
Other than that I was happy we even got any character customization at all. I would have liked a few more options sometimes, yes, but in general I was happy with it and I didn’t think they looked neutral at all. Maybe you have something very specific in mind that I just didn’t notice, but… :woman_shrugging:
I thought they were fine.
