đŸ”„ Diablo 4's Devilish Dilemmas: My 400h+ Improvement Wishlist

This is spot on! Literally everything makes sense but they will just ignore all of these and do what they want.

  1. Reduce Vulnerabilities damage
  2. Make Legendary Nodes surrounded by supportive blue nodes
  3. Make Legendary Nodes more powerful and useful
  4. Empower the first attached Paragon Board
  5. Provide better options for opening up more basic spell trees ability levels
  6. Drastically overhaul and improve the uniques (the ones with high drop), there’s too many stats that are too powerful missing from the uniques that often makes them pointless compared to a legendary item with imprint and often theres too much Risk versus Reward on some of the items
  7. Group Search to join Nightmare Dungeons in team with a filter of who can join for people of similar level / progression etc
  8. Many More

my biggest peeve right now is the frequency in which non sacred/non ancestral loot drops in WTIV. Seems like by that point sacred should be the loot floor, with more variation again on rarity color at the sacred level and an even larger increase to the respective levels upon hitting ancestral.

Playing a game for 400 hours out of ~720 hours since it released.

I do agree the game has issues, but honestly so do you.

Id say you have more issues for caring about what he does in his free time

Trade for example is 100% useless. I mean why if I cant Trade 0% useful items with my Friends. I mean Blizzard doesn’t answer to any thing this is just File cabinet 13 here anyway

Wow, I actually agree with actually every suggestion and you put a LOT of stuff in it (useless gold shines, etc).

I’ll add that it is weird that the gold is so much needed for respec in a game where rerolling loot is very needed (if you don’t want to farm 3rd party discord with sellers of perfect rolls), it is also weird, since you have an actually nice paragon system with lot of choices to gate it again with a good amount of gold.
I understand this is to emphasize the “play more than d3” and to have something to chase for a long time, but right now, it hurts a lot, forcing players to search directly the optimized build on a third party website instead of actually being able to try stuff themselves.
This is something that I really would like to see changed as using third party tools instead of playing the game does not feel that great.
Note that I’m not against trade, but that should be an option, not a mandatory one.

All thoses things doesn’t really means that the game isn’t enjoyable, and I can see the dev team did a lot of freakin’ work trying to get an amazing game out of it. So I can’t wait for future content. Possibly all thoses issues listed will be fixed one way or the other with some time.

I agree with pretty much everything but this:

I believe that this wouldn’t be already a problem if you’ve proposed a loot filter.

Also think that it can look like it makes sense in its current state, but just would exacerbate other issues. All loot looks like the same: all yellows, all 4 affixes, all the same generic rolls
I think that all Ancestrals would make things more repetitive. Making lower stuff to have a purpose would be less harmful.

Just woke up so let me reply to most stuff that I’ve seen here while I was gone
I also want to say thank you guys a lot for your overwhelmingly positive & constructive feedback and get a healthy discussion going & help build the best sanctuary for everyone!

Thank you very much!
I can only hope that these are good directions!

I didn’t really talk about true game balance and I think most of these are just user unfriendly system that are especially negative for casual players that won’t invest as much time into farming or reading about certain things, but I know what you mean!

I absolutely agree, I feel like they didn’t learn from Diablo 3 for some reason as most of these issues were already solved many many years ago, which is kind of weird as they had so many systems already.

We can just hope that they will realize that all of these systems had a reason in Diablo 3 and will push these changes quickly as many just feel unintentionally bad to interact with.

That one absolutely, but I tried and wrote at the start that I don’t want to talk about obviously unbalanced things that should be already on their radar like vulnerable and it restricting builds as much.
Also, thanks a lot for the kind words!

I agree, the vulnerable gameplay, especially combined with basically every class being a builder/spender build feels VERY similar not only across class builds but across different classes too which is kind of sad.

Definitely! I feel like that is where T5 and the new season content will come in or I couldn’t explain to myself why you are basically doing the same stuff after lvl 70-80+

Yeah I know what you mean, it feel like the current D4 reddit morphed more into a very casual dad-posting place where the focus is more on positive/silly posts, which is totally fine, but it seems like we miss a subreddit that is encourages more critical and constructive posts.

I believe all of that has to come with T5 and the season content that is currently not available which is why the endgame doesn’t really exist currently, so lets hope we hear about that in the stream today!

I’ll definitely remember that line haha!
Thanks a lot for those kind words, lets hope the D4 live stream today will clear stuff up!

Thank you very much for the contributions and nice words!

I think just saying “XYZ is bad” doesn’t really help anyone and doesn’t give the devs a good way to fix stuff and think about how they could move it in a more healthy direction, but I know that such more info-heavy posts aren’t as exciting as the super clickbaity ones.

I feel like this one doesn’t need to pointed out on this list as it’s not a real “content/gameplay” problem but a network related one which I guess they don’t intend and will fix, but I still want to say that I am sorry to hear of your loss, that must’ve sucked a lot!

Amazing!
If you would like to share with what points you disagree or would reword let me know and share your ideas with the community!

Glad to hear that so many people have the same feelings, let’s hope they will take lists like these as goals in the future so that we all have a better experience!

Over 430h+ on one character I might add!
And yes I do, I suffer so you don’t have to!

Ngl he has a point, I don’t fault him haha

You might be right, but I think they make more money off of happy players than sad ones, so lets hope their greed actually produces something positive!

Very glad to hear that I managed to put many frustrations you feel into words about various issues whether they might be big or small.

Especially gold right now feels a bit chaotic, I don’t mind the BIG costs of certain stuff and would like certain sources/sinks rebalanced a little bit as it currently just feels odd how much/little certain stuff costs/drops.

I personally would just say that sacred items dropping from lvl 100 NM dungeons as an extreme example just don’t serve a purpose, tho they would definitely not be a problem anymore if we had a loot filter so I agree.

If they would implement a loot filter then that would definitely solve that, but if they wouldn’t then they should drastically reduce the randomness of drops so we don’t have to look at thousands of items to not miss a crazy item and respect players time.

#14 seems like a problem for a tiny subset of folks trying to be the 1% on leaderboards

#27 can be extended to any stat that has diminishing returns, not just resistances (less a disagree and more a “yes, and”)

#33 would make dungeons way too linear and boring, even though they currently are somewhat boring now

#34 extend this to the radius for clicking on items as well. Seems to be difficult to click on items when on the move

#42 Having breaks between intense moments of fighting is good for the heart, you know

#44 My partner who plays a marksman rogue dies far more often than I do as a barb, subjective experience maybe?

#56 Any whispers beyond the 10 roll-over for the next set, not sure if you noticed that. But yeah it does feel too tedious regardless.

#59 This feels like a high-end problem, but it seems like he’s pretty infrequent to me. Have had a couple times now where I don’t even notice I’m wailing on him until a second or two in.

#61 There’s already a 30min warning for the World Boss, maybe extend it to 1 hour? Totally agree about the helltides though.

Some of your points also got addressed and will get patched for Season 1, in case you didn’t know.

As a new player, this perfectly summarized how I feel about the game. Thank you so much SCE for articulating what a lot of us feel

My hope is that this gets to the devs and they make some actual changes.

  1. Hell no. There should be no monetary cost to obtain new stash tabs. What they could do is have 1 sharable and the rest character unique, which allows alts to house more items. Or better, just have a ramping cost for unlimited tabs.

100% agree with this list.

I would add too :

  • Allow us to save multiple specs
  • Make basic spells useful
  • Bring more fun events on the map so we always want to run through the world instead of asking for tp to dungeons (since there is nothing to see/do anymore once you clean everything
)

Ouh that’s what I meant, ramping gold cost for each stash tabs.

Absolutely amazing ideas!
Right now respeccing fully for each build just feels so weird, I don’t mind the cost but placing and removing each node is so weird.
I know we get the new scroll of amnesia but that doesn’t really fix the issue/is way too aggressive.

Glad to have been able to catch your frustrations in my post & thanks for the kind words!

You also mentioned a $cost for additional ones. That can go away.

I didn’t mean to call you out on this one, sorry if it came over like that.
Over 12 hours a day is too much.

Take care of yourself.

I don’t see why so many of these aren’t in the game already. It’s almost as the game was released before it was ready.

Mobs that are level 100+ in Ancestral NM dungeons should not be dropping lower tier items.

They should drop item level 800+ gear only.

Leave the lower tier items to lower level nm and normal dungeons.

What’s the point of going higher tier when you get lower level items?

Leave the lower level tiers to lower level

Excellent post. I agree with almost every point. Hopefully, this gets the attention it deserves. As a SSF player with a level 100 character, I really hope they prioritize giving us more stash space and reducing the enchanting RNG and/or costs. As is, it’s very demotivating to endgame grind AND starting fresh with alts, and I worry about the longevity of this game if these things are not fixed soon.
