Fantasticl blues magic.
James Cotton is one of the most famous and greatest harp players ever.
Derek Trucks is an absolute master of the slide guitar. Has been opening for the Allmans since he was a teen and when he was old enough they just had to invite him to the band
A little bit older 2nd gen Trucks. (I am partial to the original boys, however these children of the original’s are awesome.)
Man can he make that Gigson SG sing to the heavens!
DUANE ALLMAN (The Allman Brothers Band) - In memory of Elizabeth Reed
The Allman Brothers Band - Full Concert - 09/23/70 - Fillmore East
To be at this concert would have been one of the great joys of this life.
Man, I can’t unhear that. That one song has messed what ever musical inclination I had before this song. LOL
Damn can these boys rock hard.
Great video of a burnin’ hot band!
If you were alive when Buddy Rich was in his prime you would have seen #1 drum solo where ever he played.
He was regarded as one of the greatest drummers ever by almost everyone in those days.
Gene Krupa was also a great drummer during these days.
Hard to say which is better.
Most say Rich was more technical, but Krupa was more creative.
There are so many fabulous musician’s from this era that have been forgotten about by most.
Thanks for the lovely video, even as an old man Mr. Rich is a jewel to behold!
Another great drummer from that era: Joe Morello.
Unparalleled stick control, polyrhythms, sheer speed, and musicality
