So who's NOT pre-purchasing for early access?

They got me with the pet and wings for Diablo 3. I missed the cool wings and what not one got for pre-ordering D3 because I only bought it about a month or two before RoS came out.

I do intend to play D4 but if it’s a rough start or needs some bug fixes not too long after launch, then I’ll probably still be playing D3 and I wanted that darn pet and wings, lol.

Can’t believe though if it turns out bad that I spent $100 on a pet and wings. I guess I’m part whale after all. LOL

Hope he knows there’s an open beta the weekend after lol, you don’t need to pay anything.

They mentioned a few posts in that they totally missed it.

Ah, I don’t read whole threads usually, just glance over them and talk about interesting topics.

I confess that I won’t buy right way for the same reason… here in Brazil the standard edition is over R$ 350 (70 us dolars x 5). So, buying an unpolished version is out of order for me. Otherwise, I would be glad to pay (as have done in some Switch or PC games) for an proven quality game.

Not going to be fooled by another hush hush job as Cyberpunk 2077 and the GTA Ultimate Edition Trilogy.

Anyone know if you can preorder, play stress test phase 1, and then cancel preorder?
If that is doable, I would probably preorder. For a week.
Refund needs to be automated, and guaranteed. Definitely not going to waste time talking with support to get a refund.

I think this is a misunderstanding.
Diablo 4 should have a 3-6 months beta period. Because it likely needs it.
That is not the same as it being an open beta.

Blizzard doesn’t seem to fear people getting bored of WoW when they do 3+ months of beta for that either.

This really tells everything about the mentality of some people on this forum

First of all what does etc stands for? General discontent?
But ok.
I’m actually worried about the specs too. It’s not bad. But not great. And I couldn’t stand to play it not on highest settings.

Console is good. I agree. But by your tone it seems you are going to buy it when it comes out to the consoles?

Other reasons I didn’t write down but may agree with. Or things I haven’t thought of yet.

As to the question of whether I will buy for console – right now, most likely no. I am deciding but leaning toward no, because of the lack of physical media. I purposefully bought consoles that have disc players - both PS5 and XBOX One X have them - and I am able to get new games (for example, I just purchased Wild Hearts) that use them… so, D4 should. As a collector, I prefer the tangible feeling of handling the game and its box. I know there is a “collector version” which is a box… but no game. I don’t want a digital game.

But, that said, if it goes on sale I just might get it. Or if my lady gets me a gift card and I have nothing else to use it for… I might consider getting D4 for console.

True. But if I knew about what it means open beta. Stupid as I am. Not sure I woulda. But I coulda. Or shoulda.
Nothing like “living in a vaaaan by the RIVER!”

But I’m actually surprised not too many people blasted this thread with discontent and hate.

I already bought it, but not for the early access. I won’t be playing again until June. I played the closed beta. That was enough for me. I’ll play the campaign when it comes out, but the end game didn’t interest me that much.

So let me get this… you bought a 70 dollar game to experience maybe 1/5th of it at best?

after already playing it will wait until after launch

you will have to pay for it already genius, if you want to play the complete game??
i actually got more, since i can experience the game before the launch.
as i’ve said, i wouldnt have bought it if i knew the open beta is free.
then again, i probably would. i’m a fan of diablo franchise, even with d3 disappointment, and my repulsion from it.

and what’s with the cheap attitude from some of you?
if that’s something you enjoy and like, whats a few bucks? isnt that why we’re working our asses???

Dunno how Blizzard does it, but Steam and other platforms tend to not refund games if you’ve played them for a short while/played them at all so having refunds be refused when you have played the (bought) beta for X hours seems entirely valid.

Don’t hold your breath.

Sure but it is an unreleased product. Seems unreasonable to count a beta as part of hours played.

I have heard that Blizzard is quite stingy with refunds though, in general. They even tried to pretend that refunding Warcraft 3 Reforged was some kind of benevolent move back in the day. Instead of just the most basic concept of refunding.

Might be worth it to get an official response just to sate my curiosity

And to add to this, if it runs for even half as long online as D3, that’s around $14 per year.

Actually you’re only playing the beta which is like the D3 beta that let you run to the Skeleton King.

I pre purchased because I love Blizzard Diablo RPG’s and D4 is the next iteration.

I don’t really care for alphas or betas as they are just ‘fun’ for a short time and not to be taken seriously.

too expensive before i know how much time its worth spending … looks promising but 2 days lvl 25 is not that hyped that i have to play it …

Hey bud - agreed - This said, it is a price that will have seasons, a one-off purchase, content and updates and themes and more I imagine and you only buy it once. I am sure there will be DLC’s for around or under $20 just like D3 and I would expect no less of any decent game, whether Witcher 3 or any Ubisoft game by comparison as but two examples.

I cannot see what the big deal is because it is not like it is a subscription or $200? Even if it was $200 and it lasts ten years like D3 that’s $20 per year. There are far more serious things in the world to complain about in my opinion than $70 for something that provides entertainment for years to come.
