I just kind of hope it’s a bit more interesting than world bosses in WoW where you show up, hit something for 3-4 minutes, then collect loot and they’re always tuned to be one of the easiest things in the game world because they’re afraid of people wiping on it.
Nothing I’ve seen about D4 so far tells me it’s a game worth getting. Not to mention the high price, probable lack of content on launch, and other controversies going on with Blizz I’ll be holding off. Besides, nowadays it’s almost never worth it to pre-order with buggy and broken big-budget games on launch. At least wait 2-4 weeks for reviews and a good look at the offer before committing.
I will not purchase season tickets for my team unless I know the out come of all the games first.
Same, but then again, I don’t watch sports.
I sort of feel like people maybe shouldn’t treat video game developers like sports teams.
Of course, I feel like people probably shouldn’t treat sports teams the way they do either.
I think you missed the point but that is okay. Some people act like they want to play the entire game for several weeks or months for free before they decide if they will purchase it. That is like saying I want my doctor and hospital to run a series of expensive tests on me that will take several weeks, they must cover all of the expenses because I will only reimburse them if I receive good news.
I don’t think somebody saying they’re willing to wait to play the game for 2-4 weeks to see if it’s worth the price is “acting like they want to play the entire game”.
Seems like the exact opposite, to be honest.
That is not what I am talking about we have some people on the forum who believe that the open beta should run for 6 months. Which is that same as “Let me play for six months for free.” I would give you names but I would get flagged.
Diablo 4 is a $70 game we are not handling plutonium.
I mean, at least glancing through this thread it doesn’t seem like people here are saying that?
I don’t know, just seems like a weird thing to post right after somebody posted that they wanted to wait 2-4 weeks to see if the game was any good.
Part of it is not about the $70. Some people just don’t want to contribute to rewarding developers for putting out unfinished games. Things don’t change if we keep throwing money at them.
Not that Diablo 4 is going to be an unfinished game but hey, that’s why one waits to see if it’s worth it or not(though 2-4 weeks is way more than what’s needed these days).
It’s also going to be closer to 100-105$ CAD up here with taxes. I don’t see why anyone should rush into D4 with the current lack of info on it.
“So who’s NOT pre-purchasing for early access?”
Me.
For many reasons.
-
I do not know the PC specs required and my current laptop is not so great. The desktop is better, but I don’t like using it at the angle it is, plus it only has one monitor (when I connect it - currently headless) and I don’t feel like moving the others to it.
-
No physical version is a major turn off for me.
-
I prefer playing on console as it is more natural to me.
-
A bit too expensive for less than 96 hours. Sure, eventually, I can play longer or more but I certainly want more for my $ than a limited beta.
-
etc.
I said
I was the next one to post. My comment had noting to do with the person before me. My comments were in general terms, not in a response to anyone. If people want to hold off for 6 years I do not care. My issue is with people who want to play it for free for an extended time, like I said we have some on the FORUM who want the open beta to be 6 months. That way some can play it for free for six months before they move on to other games.
Ah good old Canada. While they complain about $70 we been paying $80 for years and are now looking at $90–100 just for standard editions.
At least I live in one of the few places that aren’t slapping an extra 5-15% on top with some kind of provincial sales tax.
Sure but that’s why I commented that nobody in this thread seems to be asking for a 6 month long open beta.
It’s probably not something that ought to come as a surprise if somebody notes your post seems way off base when you posted something that was only tangentially related to the topic and that nobody in the thread was actually saying.
It’s probably something that should be aimed at the people actually saying it, whoever it might be. I’ve only seen one person asking for a 6 month refund window, and that was a dumb idea but it was only 1 poster.
I bought it, I played it, it’s good in my eyes
I certainly won’t pre purchase for beta access if that’s what you meant. I will try the open beta, and if the game seems to be to my enjoyment I might pre purchase as in a few days before release.
Nah, he means if you prepurchase certain versions you can start the real game early
He specified the beta weekend(s) in his initial post though.
Same for me, blogs, interviews, gameplay footage, closed beta now an open beta. How much do people need?
Hmm, it’s vague, but idk who would order for just 2 days of beta access that’ll get wiped
Well, judging from the OPs post, he did.
