Shadow Clones - Please Remove Them

But they also rejoin you when you enter that level again, so this doesn’t work.

Bro, simply teleporting to town when you are running support in a 2-man 120 this early in the season is not an option. It happened almost instantly. As soon as I hit the shrine, I called out dervishes, I got proc’d, we started taking evasive measures and the monk clone spammed his attack into another dervish spin and I was dead. The whole thing took about 5 seconds.

That’s a really stupid solution. I’m sorry but seriously? Pylons are a staple of high GR’s. That’s not even an option.

I feel your pain, it caught me off guard as a zbarb to see myself proc out of nowhere and then we realized it was from the dervishes reflecting clone abilities. It happened almost instantly but luckily I was able to get away quickly. This is really brutal on HC and it’s a shame that this ‘feature’ acts to take nem bracers away from GR’s which I don’t imagine was their intent, but I guess at this point who knows.

Your clones are killing you? Wow.

Mine just either don’t spawn at all, die immediately, or simply vanish…I still am not sure which most of the time. Maybe that’s why I have not as of yet been killed by one.

On a hunch, checked your profile for your seasonal hero. Yes, as I suspected, Grimaldus is a Crusader. The reason your clones are mostly missing is because…

In other words, two thirds of a Crusader’s clones will disappear before killing anything and are therefore useless.

They just need to get rid of the stupid projectile reflection mechanic. It wasn’t so bad back when T6 was the top-end (you could slap yourself, but you could survive it once or twice). But player damage has escalated about a million times faster than player durability since then. It’s a mechanic from a game that isn’t the D3 we have now, and should have been removed/changed years ago…like when RoS was released.

That was also suggested on the PTR Feedback forum. Or flagging the clones’ attacks to not be classified as projectiles. Basically anything that would mean hardcore heroes didn’t have yet another season with a difficult / impossible to avoid perma-death effect from the season theme, just like the lightning breath from Season 21’s theme was (the breath was classified as a projectile and could actually hit dervishes that were off-screen before the hero could even see them).

Glad I missed that season. But seriously, the effect just doesn’t belong in this version of D3. When players are throwing down 100b damage attacks, even if you equipped every single defensive item and effect in the game all at once, just one of those attacks would STILL probably 1-shot you.

Just stop attacking? What does that do for the dozens of hungering arrows that are still flying around?? Or the dozens of blessed hammers? And so on, and so forth.

Well ain’t that somethin’!

Kinda makes you wonder who put this season theme together…

Yes sir, once again something blizzard intertainment thought would be a cute thing to add that irritates players. This season a familiar thing a clone. Last season distracting elements that spawned every what 2 minutes and you couldn’t turn it off.

I know that, however he is the one whose computer is freezing. I haven’t had that happen, so… Also a person chooses to play HC knowing the risks. Maybe he needs a new computer? Whatever his issue is the rest of the players shouldn’t be penalized . So he has two choices - don’t play hardcore or don’t hit pylons.

Or, you know, Blizzard could have listened to the PTR forums and actually fixed this when we told them this would absolutely cause hardcore hero deaths. This is now two seasons in a row where a live season theme mechanic leads to unavoidable hardcore hero deaths despite them being warned about it on the PTRs where they were showcased. Heck, for this one, we even had people query this possibility as soon as the patch notes came out and we saw projectile abilities listed on the clones.

It’s the reason I take a blue’s remark that feedback is being read and passed on with a rather larger pinch of salt. Ofcourse it may be true, but they were simply unable to fix it which doesn’t exactly counts as a vote of confidence either.

Are you serious? Wow…

you do realise that dervishes and sand dwellers spawn randomly in rifts and GRs…you can’t control the shadow clones, so if they see dervish, etc and attack, there’s a risk that your HC is dead.

Playing PS4 and the clones definitely cause lag and mini freezes. Annoying AF.

See above ^^^

Sure, that’s really easy when you have a screen full of mobs and can’t TP safely…and you can’t really risk that move as a HC player either mate…

Oh wow…some of us enjoy the challenge of playing HC - why should the game be diminished for us because of a bug that Blizzard has failed to fix?

here here. Been saying that for a long time.

my god…what an idiotic reply mate. Sorry, but your reply just shows how selfish you are being.

Pretty much says it all, to be honest. I pointed out earlier that Diablo “hireling” AI has the absolute worst judgment of any game I have ever played, and will absolutely do everything it can to get you killed. I’m sad to see this is just one more instance of the same.

Most of the time that I click a shrine or pylon, the clone just stays posted like a complete idiot, cheerfully watching the battle rage on as if a spectator in a stadium. I have to move screens away before it will teleport to me and actually start taking actions. As a result, I have declined any shrines/pylons unless I specifically want the power they contain (Conduit, Power, Shield, etc).

Just the same as the last season’s buff, the clones are like sprinkles on a cupcake: They don’t function in any way as a benefit to me, they’re just there to look pretty. Well…that’s not entirely true, is it? At least the last season’s buff couldn’t directly, intentionally, instantly and without the barest scrap of possibility to avoid it, kill your character outright.

So…to continue the earlier analogy, these sprinkles would then have to be made of cyanide and not hardened sugar. Murder sprinkles then.

clones have been active for me, but I think there’s issues with the clones and particularly classes, cru in particular. I’m playing DH and the clones have been actively assisting with battles for me.

Anyway, season journey now completed, seasonal challenges done (3 base conquests for journey, rolling HC character to do 3 more conquests, but that’ll take 3-5 days probably). Currently rank 5 on the seasonal challenges LBs, but will drop places as the group players do the entire game in under an hour and can farm mats quicker than I can solo to get mats for rolling sets for set dungeon mastery. 2 terrible seasons in a row for conquests for solo players…

It’s much harder on people who care, that’s for sure. Thanks to input from players like you, I’ve gotten a little curious about where I’m placing, but I’m trying not to take it too seriously.

That’s not to diminish the value of placing for those who do care. The scoring system was put into place for the players to gauge themselves against one another, not to watch the entire thing go down in flames. I honestly don’t know what to say about it.

If they don’t care anymore, the most decent and honorable thing they can do is at least say so. Be honest about it.
