Seriously, you don't need to take the risk

so people is having full charms+anni+torch+ gear for swapping now. plz show me this.

have you… never ran ubers before?

i have alot. but what is your point?

if you cant see the different. i dont what to tell you.

that they take out resist charms to prebuff? then put them back in?
i mean u asked for an example… >.>

and with charm inv you dont have to take anything out.

yeah… thats right… thats how more space works???

glad you see it. and thats make the game easier

how the BLOODY HELL does pre-buffing with or without charm in inventory make the game any easier?
you save like 15 seconds worth of time… that donest make the game easier … it just saves time.

Doesn’t how a charm inventory is implemented relevant?

Currently, the character inventory is 4x10. If the character inventory was made 4x5 and the charm inventory 4x5. There still remains 40 small squares. If charms only worked in the charm inventory, it would decrease the power of those who normally keep the vast majority of the character inventory filled with charms.

Therefore the game would be harder not easier.

MICRO U CANT CHANGE THE SIZE OF THE TOTAL ALLOWED CHARMS WITHOUT AFFECTING BALANCE… HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TELL YOU THIS???

the point is to NOT affect balance… NOT to nerf it…

Balance and gameplay has already been modified based on the already announced changes in D2R. Therefore, the question is not whether modifications will exist just simply their extent. Also, someone or groups can say something over and over again that does not make it factually accurate.

My point was that the widespread claim that introducing a charm inventory makes the game easier is factually incorrect and depends on its details. Currently, we do not know these details. I am not advocating for a specific implementation, but simply showing the logical fallacy.

it donest depend on the details…
charm inventory doesn’t refer to a “different” inventory being created… it’s the SECTION of your larger inventory which USED to be your old 4x10 space, in which charm can STILL be used in, but any of the new space added charms don’t work in… your not ADDING space for charms to work in… your ADDING space charms DON’T work in

the “bottom half” is the “charm inventory”

we talked about more space not less. so you forgot somthing as always when you Quote

Yes it does. There are different ideas on how this should be implemented and whether addition of a charm inventory results in the reduction of the character inventory.

If the argument is that the character inventory remains constant and the charm inventory is 4x10, then this is a buff for sure and does make the game easier.

no there arn’t micro. everyone asking for a charm inventory knows what it is…

that’s just you and people who have never used it theorize new crazy ideas you can try to implement something.

you’re trying to change the definition… its already defined

The picture that you linked is a buff. It is undeniaible. In the original game, “everyone” keeps the horadric cube, tp book, and id book in their character inventory. That leaves 32 small squares for charms and everything else. In your picture, there are 40 spaces for charms. In addition, several classes have to keep spare items (e.g. arrow for bowazon).

40>32

Therefore, it is a buff to character power, as shown in your image.

If the goal was balance and not power creep, the maximum size of the charm inventory would be at most 32 small squares and likely smaller to be similar power-wise to the original game.

As a small note- I almost never keep an ID tomb. TP, yes, ID, no.

your are forgetting that dueling doesn’t use cube at all and uses full 40… yes for pvm u can fit 1 extra GC in with this inventory, and yes that IS a buff compared to having cube, but its minimal, and its deemed acceptable given the massive QOL buff it makes.

the point of charm inventory was to increase inventory space in a way that doesn’t affect balance. the POINT of it is for it NOT to be a buff.

there is no “perfect” way to do it but its better than the currently massively flawed system that punishes you for playing the game properly, a minor buff is far within the acceptable range for such a massive QOL buff…
so yes i agree that 1 extra charm IS a straight buff for pvm but its small enough that the QOL far outweighs the balance implications.

as to why its deemed acceptable to add this small space for pvm and not take it away from PvP for your 36/40 (i’m not sure why your going with 32… torch fits under cube…) its because taking something away from a person is much worse than giving people something they may not want

This isn’t true at all. Most GM pvp allows a certain amount of prebuffing, which is always allowed from cube. Even in pubduels, everyone prebuffs from cube, it’s the most efficient way.

We should also remove all widescreen and screen sizes from the game one screen size for all, its unfair someone will be able to see wide areas then others.
